Isaiah 10:5–12

||O Assyrian, ithe rod of mine anger,

||And ithe staff in their hand is mine indignation.

I will send him against kan hypocritical nation,

And against the people of my wrath lwill I give him a charge,

mTo take the spoil, and to take the prey,

And to tread them down like the mire of the streets.

Howbeit nhe meaneth not so,

Neither doth his heart think so;

But it is in his heart to destroy

And cut off nations not a few.

oFor he saith, Are not my princes altogether kings?

Is not pCalno as qCarchemish?

rIs not sHamath as tArpad?

Is not uSamaria vas Damascus?

10  wAs my hand hath found the kingdoms of xthe idols,

And whose graven images did excel them of Jerusalem and of uSamaria;

11  Shall I not, as I have done unto uSamaria and her xidols,

So do to Jerusalem and her yidols?

12  Wherefore it shall come to pass, that zwhen the Lord hath performed his whole work

aUpon mount Zion and on Jerusalem,

bI will punish the fruit of the stout heart of cthe king of Assyria,

And the glory of his high looks.
