Ezekiel 24:15–23

15 Also the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, 16 Son of man, behold, I take away from thee athe desire of thine eyes with a stroke: byet neither shalt thou mourn nor weep, neither shall thy tears run down. 17 Forbear to cry, bcmake no mourning for the dead, dbind the etire of thine head upon thee, and fput on thy shoes upon thy feet, gand hcover not thy lips, and ieat not the bread of men. 18 So I spake unto the people in the morning: and at even my wife died; and I did in the morning jas I was commanded.

19 And the people said unto me, kWilt thou not tell us what these things are to us, that thou doest so? 20 Then I answered them, The word of the Lord came unto me, saying, 21 Speak unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, lI will profane my sanctuary, mthe excellency of your strength, anthe desire of your eyes, and that which your soul pitieth; and oyour sons and your daughters whom ye have left shall fall by the sword. 22 And ye shall do as I have done: ghye shall not cover your lips, inor eat the bread of men. 23 And eyour tires shall be upon your heads, and fyour shoes upon your feet: bye shall not mourn pnor weep; but qye shall pine away for your iniquities, and rmourn one toward another.
