Daniel 10:1–9

*aIn the third year of Cyrus bking of Persia a thing was revealed unto Daniel, cwhose name was called Belteshazzar; and dthe thing was true, but ethe time appointed fwas long: and ghe understood the thing, and had understanding of the vision. In those days I Daniel was mourning hthree full weeks. I ate no pleasant bread, neither came flesh nor wine in my mouth, ineither did I janoint myself at all, till hthree whole weeks were fulfilled. And in the four and twentieth day of kthe first month, as I was lby the side of the great river, which is mHiddekel; Then nI lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and behold oa certain man pclothed in linen, qwhose loins were girded with rfine gold of sUphaz: His body also was tlike the beryl, and uhis face vas the appearance of lightning, and whis eyes as lamps of fire, and his arms and xyhis zfeet like in colour to polished brass, and yathe voice of his words like the voice of a multitude. And bI Daniel alone saw the vision: for bthe men that were with me saw not the vision; but a great quaking fell upon them, so that they fled to hide themselves. Therefore I was left alone, and saw this great vision, and cthere remained no strength in me: for my ||dcomeliness was turned in me into corruption, and eI retained no strength. Yet heard I the voice of his words: and when I heard the voice of his words, fthen was I in a deep sleep on my face, and fmy face toward the ground.
