1 Samuel 30:7–8

And David said to fAbiathar the priest, Ahimelech’s son, I pray thee, bring me hither the ephod. And Abiathar brought thither the ephod to David. And gDavid inquired at the Lord, saying, Shall I pursue after this htroop? shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all.

Then David said to Abiathar the priest, the son of Ahimelek, “Bring me the ephod.” Abiathar brought it to him, and David inquired of the Lord, “Shall I pursue this raiding party? Will I overtake them?”

“Pursue them,” he answered. “You will certainly overtake them and succeed in the rescue.”
