13 Thorns will overrun her citadels,

nettles and brambles her strongholds.

She will become a haunt for jackals,

a home for owls.

14 Desert creatures will meet with hyenas,

and wild goats will bleat to each other;

there the night creatures will also lie down

and find for themselves places of rest.

15 The owl will nest there and lay eggs,

she will hatch them, and care for her young

under the shadow of her wings;

there also the falcons will gather,

each with its mate.

13 And thorns shall come up in her palaces,

Nettles and brambles in the fortresses thereof:

And it shall be an habitation of dragons,

And a court for owls.

14 The wild beasts of the desert shall also meet with the wild beasts of the island,

And the satyr shall cry to his fellow;

The screech owl also shall rest there,

And find for herself a place of rest.

15 There shall the great owl make her nest, and lay,

And hatch, and gather under her shadow:

There shall the vultures also be gathered,

Every one with her mate.

The ruins will become a haunt for jackals

and a home for owls.

14 Desert animals will mingle there with hyenas,

their howls filling the night.

Wild goats will bleat at one another among the ruins,

and night creatures will come there to rest.

15 There the owl will make her nest and lay her eggs.

She will hatch her young and cover them with her wings.

And the buzzards will come,

each one with its mate.

13 And thorns shall come up in its palaces,

Nettles and brambles in its fortresses;

It shall be a habitation of jackals,

A courtyard for ostriches.

14 The wild beasts of the desert shall also meet with the jackals,

And the wild goat shall bleat to its companion;

Also the night creature shall rest there,

And find for herself a place of rest.

15 There the arrow snake shall make her nest and lay eggs

And hatch, and gather them under her shadow;

There also shall the hawks be gathered,

Every one with her mate.

13 Thorns will take over the strong towers,

and wild bushes will grow in the walled cities.

It will be a home for wild dogs

and a place for owls to live.

14 Desert animals will live with the hyenas,

and wild goats will call to their friends.

Night animals will live there

and find a place of rest.

15 Owls will nest there and lay eggs.

When they hatch open, the owls will gather their young under their wings.

Hawks will gather

with their own kind.

13 And thorns shall come up in its palaces, nettles and thistles in the fortresses thereof; and it shall be a habitation of jackals, a court for ostriches. 14 And the wild beasts of the desert shall meet with the wolves, and the wild goat shall cry to his fellow; yea, the night-monster shall settle there, and shall find her a place of rest. 15 There shall the dart-snake make her nest, and lay, and hatch, and gather under her shade; yea, there shall the kites be gathered, every one with her mate.

13 And thorns shall come up in her palaces, nettles and brambles in her fortresses; and it shall be a dwelling-place of wild dogs, a court for ostriches. 14 And there shall the beasts of the desert meet with the jackals, and the wild goat shall cry to his fellow; the lilith also shall settle there, and find for herself a place of rest. 15 There shall the arrow-snake make her nest, and lay, and hatch, and gather under her shadow; there also shall the vultures be gathered one with another.

13 Its palaces are covered with thorns. 

Its fortresses have nettles and thistles. 

It will become a home for jackals 

and a place for ostriches. 

14 Hyenas will meet with jackals. 

Male goats will call to their mates. 

Screech owls will rest there 

and find a resting place for themselves. 

15 Owls will make their nests there, lay eggs, and hatch them. 

They will gather their young 

in the shadow of ⸤their wings⸥. 

Vultures also will gather there, 

each one with its mate.

13 And thorns shall go up her citadel fortress,

weeds and thistle plants in her fortresses;

and it shall be the settlement of jackals,

green grass for the daughters of an ostrich.

14 And desert creatures shall meet with hyenas,

and a goat-demon shall call to his neighbor;

surely there Lilith shall repose,

and she shall find a resting place for herself.

15 There the owl shall nest and lay

and hatch and care for her chicks in her shadow;

surely there the birds of prey shall be gathered,

each one with her mate.

13 Thorns will cover its forts.

Bushes and weeds will cover its safest places.

It will become a home for wild dogs.

It will become a place where owls live.

14 Desert creatures will meet with hyenas.

Wild goats will call out to each other.

Night creatures will also sleep there.

They will find places where they can rest.

15 Owls will make their nests and lay their eggs there.

And they will hatch them.

They will take care of their little ones

under the shadow of their wings.

Male and female falcons will also gather there.

15 The tree snake will make its nest and lay eggs there,

And it will hatch and gather them under its protection.
