Micah 7:7–9 — The New International Version (NIV)

But as for me, I watch in hope for the Lord,

I wait for God my Savior;

my God will hear me.

Do not gloat over me, my enemy!

Though I have fallen, I will rise.

Though I sit in darkness,

the Lord will be my light.

Because I have sinned against him,

I will bear the Lord’s wrath,

until he pleads my case

and upholds my cause.

He will bring me out into the light;

I will see his righteousness.

Micah 7:7–9 — King James Version (KJV 1900)

Therefore I will look unto the Lord;

I will wait for the God of my salvation:

My God will hear me.

Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy:

When I fall, I shall arise;

When I sit in darkness, the Lord shall be a light unto me.

I will bear the indignation of the Lord, because I have sinned against him,

Until he plead my cause, and execute judgment for me:

He will bring me forth to the light, and I shall behold his righteousness.

Micah 7:7–9 — New Living Translation (NLT)

As for me, I look to the Lord for help.

I wait confidently for God to save me,

and my God will certainly hear me.

Do not gloat over me, my enemies!

For though I fall, I will rise again.

Though I sit in darkness,

the Lord will be my light.

I will be patient as the Lord punishes me,

for I have sinned against him.

But after that, he will take up my case

and give me justice for all I have suffered from my enemies.

The Lord will bring me into the light,

and I will see his righteousness.

Micah 7:7–9 — The New King James Version (NKJV)

Therefore I will look to the Lord;

I will wait for the God of my salvation;

My God will hear me.

Do not rejoice over me, my enemy;

When I fall, I will arise;

When I sit in darkness,

The Lord will be a light to me.

I will bear the indignation of the Lord,

Because I have sinned against Him,

Until He pleads my case

And executes justice for me.

He will bring me forth to the light;

I will see His righteousness.

Micah 7:7–9 — New Century Version (NCV)

Israel says, “I will look to the Lord for help.

I will wait for God to save me;

my God will hear me.

Enemy, don’t laugh at me.

I have fallen, but I will get up again.

I sit in the shadow of trouble now,

but the Lord will be a light for me.

I sinned against the Lord,

so he was angry with me,

but he will defend my case in court.

He will bring about what is right for me.

Then he will bring me out into the light,

and I will see him set things right.

Micah 7:7–9 — American Standard Version (ASV)

But as for me, I will look unto Jehovah; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me. Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, Jehovah will be a light unto me. I will bear the indignation of Jehovah, because I have sinned against him, until he plead my cause, and execute judgment for me: he will bring me forth to the light, and I shall behold his righteousness.

Micah 7:7–9 — 1890 Darby Bible (DARBY)

But as for me, I will look unto Jehovah; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me. Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: though I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, Jehovah shall be a light unto me. I will bear the indignation of Jehovah—for I have sinned against him—until he plead my cause, and execute judgment for me: he will bring me forth to the light; I shall behold his righteousness.

Micah 7:7–9 — GOD’S WORD Translation (GW)

I will look to the Lord

I will wait for God to save me.

I will wait for my God to listen to me.

Don’t laugh at me, my enemies.

Although I’ve fallen, I will get up.

Although I sit in the dark, the Lord is my light.

I have sinned against the Lord

So I will endure his fury

until he takes up my cause and wins my case.

He will bring me into the light,

and I will see his victory.

Micah 7:7–9 — The Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)

But I will look to the Lord;

I will wait for the God of my salvation.

My God will hear me.

Do not rejoice over me, my enemy!

Though I have fallen, I will stand up;

though I sit in darkness,

the Lord will be my light.

Because I have sinned against Him,

I must endure the Lord’s rage

until He argues my case

and establishes justice for me.

He will bring me into the light;

I will see His salvation.

Micah 7:7–9 — The New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)

But as for me, I will look to the Lord,

I will wait for the God of my salvation;

my God will hear me.

Do not rejoice over me, O my enemy;

when I fall, I shall rise;

when I sit in darkness,

the Lord will be a light to me.

I must bear the indignation of the Lord,

because I have sinned against him,

until he takes my side

and executes judgment for me.

He will bring me out to the light;

I shall see his vindication.

Micah 7:7–9 — The Lexham English Bible (LEB)

But as for me, I will look to Yahweh;

I will wait for the God of my salvation.

My God will hear me.

You should not rejoice over me, O my enemy!

When I fall I will stand up;

when I sit in darkness

Yahweh will be a light for me.

I will bear the rage of Yahweh,

for I have sinned against him,

until he pleads my cause

and executes my justice.

He will bring me out to the light;

I will see his righteousness.

Micah 7:7–9 — New International Reader’s Version (1998) (NIrV)

So I will look to the Lord.

I’ll put my trust in God my Savior.

He will hear me.

The people of Jerusalem say,

“Don’t laugh when we suffer,

you enemies of ours!

We have fallen.

But we’ll get up.

Even though we sit in the dark,

the Lord will give us light.

We’ve sinned against the Lord.

So he is angry with us.

That will continue until he takes up our case.

Then he’ll do what is right for us.

He’ll bring us out into the light.

Then we’ll see him save us.

Micah 7:7–9 — New American Standard Bible: 1995 Update (NASB95)

But as for me, I will watch expectantly for the Lord;

I will wait for the God of my salvation.

My God will hear me.

Do not rejoice over me, O my enemy.

Though I fall I will rise;

Though I dwell in darkness, the Lord is a light for me.

I will bear the indignation of the Lord

Because I have sinned against Him,

Until He pleads my case and executes justice for me.

He will bring me out to the light,

And I will see His righteousness.
