John 19:24 — The New International Version (NIV)

24 “Let’s not tear it,” they said to one another. “Let’s decide by lot who will get it.”

This happened that the scripture might be fulfilled that said,

“They divided my clothes among them

and cast lots for my garment.”

So this is what the soldiers did.

John 19:24 — King James Version (KJV 1900)

John 19:24 — New Living Translation (NLT)

24 So they said, “Rather than tearing it apart, let’s throw dice for it.” This fulfilled the Scripture that says, “They divided my garments among themselves and threw dice for my clothing.” So that is what they did.

Therefore the soldiers did these things.

John 19:24 — New Century Version (NCV)

24 So the soldiers said to each other, “We should not tear this into parts. Let’s throw lots to see who will get it.” This happened so that this Scripture would come true:

and they threw lots for my clothing.”

So the soldiers did this.

And upon my vesture did they cast lots.

John 19:24 — GOD’S WORD Translation (GW)

24 The soldiers said to each other, “Let’s not rip it apart. Let’s throw dice to see who will get it.” In this way the Scripture came true: “They divided my clothes among themselves. They threw dice for my clothing.” So that’s what the soldiers did.

John 19:24 — The Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)

24 So they said to one another, “Let’s not tear it, but cast lots for it, to see who gets it.” They did this to fulfill the Scripture that says: They divided My clothes among themselves, and they cast lots for My clothing. And this is what the soldiers did.

John 19:24 — The New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)

Thus the soldiers did these things.

John 19:24 — New International Reader’s Version (1998) (NIrV)
