Isaiah 30:8–11 — The New International Version (NIV)

Go now, write it on a tablet for them,

inscribe it on a scroll,

that for the days to come

it may be an everlasting witness.

For these are rebellious people, deceitful children,

children unwilling to listen to the Lord’s instruction.

10 They say to the seers,

“See no more visions!”

and to the prophets,

“Give us no more visions of what is right!

Tell us pleasant things,

prophesy illusions.

11 Leave this way,

get off this path,

and stop confronting us

with the Holy One of Israel!”

Isaiah 30:8–11 — King James Version (KJV 1900)

Now go, write it before them in a table,

And note it in a book,

That it may be for the time to come

For ever and ever:

That this is a rebellious people, lying children,

Children that will not hear the law of the Lord:

10 Which say to the seers, See not;

And to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things,

Speak unto us smooth things,

Prophesy deceits:

11 Get you out of the way,

Turn aside out of the path,

Cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us.

Isaiah 30:8–11 — New Living Translation (NLT)

Now go and write down these words.

Write them in a book.

They will stand until the end of time

as a witness

that these people are stubborn rebels

who refuse to pay attention to the Lord’s instructions.

10 They tell the seers,

“Stop seeing visions!”

They tell the prophets,

“Don’t tell us what is right.

Tell us nice things.

Tell us lies.

11 Forget all this gloom.

Get off your narrow path.

Stop telling us about your

‘Holy One of Israel.’ ”

Isaiah 30:8–11 — The New King James Version (NKJV)

Now go, write it before them on a tablet,

And note it on a scroll,

That it may be for time to come,

Forever and ever:

That this is a rebellious people,

Lying children,

Children who will not hear the law of the Lord;

10 Who say to the seers, “Do not see,”

And to the prophets, “Do not prophesy to us right things;

Speak to us smooth things, prophesy deceits.

11 Get out of the way,

Turn aside from the path,

Cause the Holy One of Israel

To cease from before us.”

Isaiah 30:8–11 — New Century Version (NCV)

Now write this on a sign for the people,

write this on a scroll,

so that for the days to come

this will be a witness forever.

These people are like children who lie and refuse to obey;

they refuse to listen to the Lord’s teachings.

10 They tell the seers,

“Don’t see any more visions!”

They say to the prophets,

“Don’t tell us the truth!

Say things that will make us feel good;

see only good things for us.

11 Stop blocking our path.

Get out of our way.

Stop telling us

about God, the Holy One of Israel.”

Isaiah 30:8–11 — American Standard Version (ASV)

Now go, write it before them on a tablet, and inscribe it in a book, that it may be for the time to come for ever and ever. For it is a rebellious people, lying children, children that will not hear the law of Jehovah; 10 that say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits, 11 get you out of the way, turn aside out of the path, cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us.

Isaiah 30:8–11 — 1890 Darby Bible (DARBY)

Now go, write it before them on a tablet, and record it in a book, that it may be for the time to come, as a witness for ever, that this is a rebellious people, lying children, children that will not hear the law of Jehovah; 10 who say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things; speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits; 11 get you out of the way, turn aside out of the path, cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us!

Isaiah 30:8–11 — GOD’S WORD Translation (GW)

Now, write this on a tablet for them, and inscribe it in a book

so that it will be there in the future as a permanent witness.

These people are rebellious and deceitful children,

children who refuse to listen to the Lord’s teachings.

10 They say to the seers,‘Don’t see ⸤the future⸥.’

They say to those who have visions,

‘Don’t have visions that tell us what is right.

Tell us what we want to hear. See illusions.

11 Get out of our way! Stop blocking our path!

Get the Holy One of Israel out of our sight.’ ”

Isaiah 30:8–11 — The Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)

Go now, write it on a tablet in their presence

and inscribe it on a scroll;

it will be for the future,

forever and ever.

They are a rebellious people,

deceptive children,

children who do not want to obey the Lord’s instruction.

10 They say to the seers, “Do not see,”

and to the prophets,

“Do not prophesy the truth to us.

Tell us flattering things.

Prophesy illusions.

11 Get out of the way!

Leave the pathway.

Rid us of the Holy One of Israel.”

Isaiah 30:8–11 — The New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)

Go now, write it before them on a tablet,

and inscribe it in a book,

so that it may be for the time to come

as a witness forever.

For they are a rebellious people,

faithless children,

children who will not hear

the instruction of the Lord;

10 who say to the seers, “Do not see”;

and to the prophets, “Do not prophesy to us what is right;

speak to us smooth things,

prophesy illusions,

11 leave the way, turn aside from the path,

let us hear no more about the Holy One of Israel.”

Isaiah 30:8–11 — The Lexham English Bible (LEB)

Now go, write it on a tablet with them,

and inscribe it on a scroll,

that it may be for the time to come,

forever, forever.

For it is a people of rebellion, deceitful children,

children who are not willing to hear the instruction of Yahweh,

10 who say to those who do see, “You must not see!”

and to the seers, “You must not see truth for us;

speak smooth things to us,

see illusions,

11 turn aside from the way, turn aside from the path,

put an end to the holy one of Israel from our face.”

Isaiah 30:8–11 — New International Reader’s Version (1998) (NIrV)

The Lord said to me, “Go now.

Write on a tablet for the people of Judah

what I am about to say.

Also write it on a scroll.

In days to come

it will be a witness that lasts forever.

The people of Judah refuse to obey me.

They are children who tell lies.

They will not listen to what I want to teach them.

10 They say to the seers,

‘Don’t see any more visions!’

They say to the prophets,

‘Don’t give us any more visions of what is right!

Tell us pleasant things.

Prophesy things we want to hear even if they aren’t true.

11 Get out of our way!

Get off our path!

Keep the Holy One of Israel away from us!’ ”

Isaiah 30:8–11 — New American Standard Bible: 1995 Update (NASB95)

Now go, write it on a tablet before them

And inscribe it on a scroll,

That it may serve in the time to come

As a witness forever.

For this is a rebellious people, false sons,

Sons who refuse to listen

To the instruction of the Lord;

10 Who say to the seers, “You must not see visions”;

And to the prophets, “You must not prophesy to us what is right,

Speak to us pleasant words,

Prophesy illusions.

11 Get out of the way, turn aside from the path,

Let us hear no more about the Holy One of Israel.”
