13  You are wearied with your many counsels;

cthe fire consumes them;

they cannot deliver themselves

from the power of the flame.

No coal for warming oneself is this,

no fire to sit before!

Isaiah 47:13–14 — The New International Version (NIV)

13 All the counsel you have received has only worn you out!

Let your astrologers come forward,

those stargazers who make predictions month by month,

let them save you from what is coming upon you.

14 Surely they are like stubble;

the fire will burn them up.

They cannot even save themselves

from the power of the flame.

These are not coals for warmth;

this is not a fire to sit by.

Isaiah 47:13–14 — King James Version (KJV 1900)

13 Thou art wearied in the multitude of thy counsels.

Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, the monthly prognosticators,

Stand up, and save thee from these things that shall come upon thee.

14 Behold, they shall be as stubble; the fire shall burn them;

They shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame:

There shall not be a coal to warm at, nor fire to sit before it.

Isaiah 47:13–14 — New Living Translation (NLT)

13 All the advice you receive has made you tired.

Where are all your astrologers,

those stargazers who make predictions each month?

Let them stand up and save you from what the future holds.

14 But they are like straw burning in a fire;

they cannot save themselves from the flame.

You will get no help from them at all;

their hearth is no place to sit for warmth.

Isaiah 47:13–14 — The New King James Version (NKJV)

13 You are wearied in the multitude of your counsels;

Let now the astrologers, the stargazers,

And the monthly prognosticators

Stand up and save you

From what shall come upon you.

14 Behold, they shall be as stubble,

The fire shall burn them;

They shall not deliver themselves

From the power of the flame;

It shall not be a coal to be warmed by,

Nor a fire to sit before!

Isaiah 47:13–14 — New Century Version (NCV)

13 You are tired of the advice you have received.

So let those who study the sky—

those who tell the future by looking at the stars and the new moons—

let them save you from what is about to happen to you.

14 But they are like straw;

fire will quickly burn them up.

They cannot save themselves

from the power of the fire.

They are not like coals that give warmth

nor like a fire that you may sit beside.

Isaiah 47:13–14 — American Standard Version (ASV)

13 Thou art wearied in the multitude of thy counsels: let now the astrologers, the star-gazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up, and save thee from the things that shall come upon thee. 14 Behold, they shall be as stubble; the fire shall burn them; they shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame: it shall not be a coal to warm at, nor a fire to sit before.

Isaiah 47:13–14 — 1890 Darby Bible (DARBY)

13 Thou art wearied in the multitude of thy counsels. Let now the interpreters of the heavens, the observers of the stars, who predict according to the new moons what shall come upon thee, stand up, and save thee. 14 Behold, they shall be as stubble, the fire shall burn them; they shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame: there shall not be a coal to warm at, nor fire to sit before it.

Isaiah 47:13–14 — GOD’S WORD Translation (GW)

13 You are worn out by your many plans.

Let your astrologers and your stargazers,

who foretell the future month by month,

come to you, rise up, and save you.

14 They are like straw.

Fire burns them.

They can’t rescue themselves from the flames.

There are no glowing coals to keep them warm

and no fire for them to sit by.

Isaiah 47:13–14 — The Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)

13 You are worn out with your many consultations.

So let them stand and save you—

the astrologers, who observe the stars,

who predict monthly

what will happen to you.

14 Look, they are like stubble;

fire burns them up.

They cannot deliver themselves

from the power of the flame.

This is not a coal for warming themselves,

or a fire to sit beside!

Isaiah 47:13–14 — The New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)

13 You are wearied with your many consultations;

let those who study the heavens

stand up and save you,

those who gaze at the stars,

and at each new moon predict

what shall befall you.

14 See, they are like stubble,

the fire consumes them;

they cannot deliver themselves

from the power of the flame.

No coal for warming oneself is this,

no fire to sit before!

Isaiah 47:13–14 — The Lexham English Bible (LEB)

13 You struggle with your many consultations;

let them stand, now, and save you—

those who see the stars, divide the celestial sphere,

who inform by new moons—

from those things that are coming upon you.

14 Look! They are like stubble;

the fire burns them completely.

They cannot deliver themselves from the power of the flame;

there is no coal for warming oneself,

no fire before which to sit.

Isaiah 47:13–14 — New International Reader’s Version (1998) (NIrV)

13 All of the advice you have received

has only worn you out!

Let those who study the heavens come forward.

They claim to know what is going to happen

by watching the stars every month.

So let them save you from the trouble

that is coming on you.

14 They are just like straw.

Fire will burn them up.

They can’t even save themselves

from the powerful flames.

They are not like coals that can warm anyone.

They are not like a fire to sit by.

Isaiah 47:13–14 — New American Standard Bible: 1995 Update (NASB95)

13 “You are wearied with your many counsels;

Let now the astrologers,

Those who prophesy by the stars,

Those who predict by the new moons,

Stand up and save you from what will come upon you.

14 Behold, they have become like stubble,

Fire burns them;

They cannot deliver themselves from the power of the flame;

There will be no coal to warm by

Nor a fire to sit before!
