22 “Tell us, you idols,

what is going to happen.

Tell us what the former things were,

so that we may consider them

and know their final outcome.

Or declare to us the things to come,

23 tell us what the future holds,

so we may know that you are gods.

Do something, whether good or bad,

so that we will be dismayed and filled with fear.

Isaiah 41:22–23 — King James Version (KJV 1900)

22 Let them bring them forth, and shew us what shall happen:

Let them shew the former things, what they be,

That we may consider them, and know the latter end of them;

Or declare us things for to come.

23 Shew the things that are to come hereafter,

That we may know that ye are gods:

Yea, do good, or do evil,

That we may be dismayed, and behold it together.

Isaiah 41:22–23 — New Living Translation (NLT)

22 “Let them try to tell us what happened long ago

so that we may consider the evidence.

Or let them tell us what the future holds,

Then we will know you are gods.

In fact, do anything—good or bad!

Do something that will amaze and frighten us.

Isaiah 41:22–23 — The New King James Version (NKJV)

22 “Let them bring forth and show us what will happen;

Let them show the former things, what they were,

That we may know that you are gods;

Yes, do good or do evil,

That we may be dismayed and see it together.

Isaiah 41:22–23 — New Century Version (NCV)

22 Bring in your idols to tell us

what is going to happen.

Have them tell us what happened in the beginning.

Then we will think about these things,

and we will know how they will turn out.

Or tell us what will happen in the future.

23 Tell us what is coming next

so we will believe that you are gods.

Do something, whether it is good or bad,

and make us afraid.

Isaiah 41:22–23 — American Standard Version (ASV)

22 Let them bring forth, and declare unto us what shall happen: declare ye the former things, what they are, that we may consider them, and know the latter end of them; or show us things to come. 23 Declare the things that are to come hereafter, that we may know that ye are gods: yea, do good, or do evil, that we may be dismayed, and behold it together.

Isaiah 41:22–23 — GOD’S WORD Translation (GW)

what will happen.

Then we can check it out

and see if it is really true.

Or announce to us the things that will take place.

23 Tell us what will happen in the days ahead.

Then we will know that you are gods.

Do something. It does not matter whether it is good or bad.

Then we will be terrified and filled with fear.
