Genesis 7:1–4

Then the Lord said to Noah, p“Go into the ark, you and all your household, for I have seen that qyou are righteous before me in this generation. Take with you seven pairs of all rclean animals,1 the male and his mate, and a pair of the animals that are not clean, the male and his mate, and seven pairs2 of the birds of the heavens also, male and female, to keep their offspring alive on the face of all the earth. For in seven days sI will send rain on the earth forty days and forty nights, tand every living thing3 that I have made I will blot out from the face of the ground.”

Genesis 7:1–4 — The New International Version (NIV)

The Lord then said to Noah, “Go into the ark, you and your whole family, because I have found you righteous in this generation. Take with you seven pairs of every kind of clean animal, a male and its mate, and one pair of every kind of unclean animal, a male and its mate, and also seven pairs of every kind of bird, male and female, to keep their various kinds alive throughout the earth. Seven days from now I will send rain on the earth for forty days and forty nights, and I will wipe from the face of the earth every living creature I have made.”
