12 “Son of man, take up a lament concerning the king of Tyre and say to him: ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says:

“ ‘You were the seal of perfection,

full of wisdom and perfect in beauty.

13 You were in Eden,

the garden of God;

every precious stone adorned you:

carnelian, chrysolite and emerald,

topaz, onyx and jasper,

lapis lazuli, turquoise and beryl.

Your settings and mountings were made of gold;

on the day you were created they were prepared.

14 You were anointed as a guardian cherub,

for so I ordained you.

You were on the holy mount of God;

you walked among the fiery stones.

12 Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord God; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty. 13 Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created. 14 Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.

12 “Son of man, sing this funeral song for the king of Tyre. Give him this message from the Sovereign Lord:

“You were the model of perfection,

full of wisdom and exquisite in beauty.

13 You were in Eden,

the garden of God.

Your clothing was adorned with every precious stone—

red carnelian, pale-green peridot, white moonstone,

blue-green beryl, onyx, green jasper,

blue lapis lazuli, turquoise, and emerald—

all beautifully crafted for you

and set in the finest gold.

They were given to you

on the day you were created.

14 I ordained and anointed you

as the mighty angelic guardian.

You had access to the holy mountain of God

and walked among the stones of fire.

Was prepared for you on the day you were created.

14 “You were the anointed cherub who covers;

I established you;

You were on the holy mountain of God;

You walked back and forth in the midst of fiery stones.

12 “Human, sing a funeral song for the king of Tyre. Say to him: ‘This is what the Lord God says:

You were an example of what was perfect,

full of wisdom and perfect in beauty.

13 You had a wonderful life,

as if you were in Eden, the garden of God.

Every valuable gem was on you:

ruby, topaz, and emerald,

yellow quartz, onyx, and jasper,

sapphire, turquoise, and chrysolite.

Your jewelry was made of gold.

It was prepared on the day you were created.

14 I appointed a living creature to guard you.

I put you on the holy mountain of God.

You walked among the gems that shined like fire.

You were the perfect example, 

full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. 

13 You were in Eden, God’s garden. 

You were covered with every kind of precious stone: 

red quartz, topaz, crystal, 

beryl, onyx, gray quartz, sapphire, 

turquoise, and emerald. 

Your settings and your sockets 

were made of gold when you were created. 

14 I appointed an angelto guard you. 

You were on God’s holy mountain. 

You walked among fiery stones.

and worked in gold were your settings

and your engravings.

12 “Son of man, raise a lament over the king of Tyre, and you must say to him, ‘thus says the Lord Yahweh:

“You were a perfect model of an example,

full of wisdom and perfect of beauty.

13 You were in Eden, the garden of God,

and every precious stone was your adornment:

carnelian, topaz and moonstone,

turquoise, onyx and jasper,

sapphire, malachite and emerald.

And gold was the craftsmanship of your settings

and your mountings in you;

on the day when you were created they were prepared.

14 You were an anointed guardian cherub,

and I placed you on God’s holy mountain;

you walked in the midst of stones of fire.

12 “Son of man, sing a song of sadness about the king of Tyre. Tell him, ‘The Lord and King says,

“ ‘ “You were the model of perfection.

You were full of wisdom.

You were perfect and beautiful.

13 You were in Eden.

It was my garden.

All kinds of jewels decorated you.

Here is a list of them.

ruby, topaz and emerald

chrysolite, onyx and jasper

sapphire, turquoise and beryl
