Brought up in Lurgan, Northern Ireland, Jim Allen was saved at the age of 17. After graduating with first class honours in Science, he taught for four years in Ballymena Academy before going to Malaya as Headmaster of a Grammar School and then Principal of the Specialist Teacher Training Institute in Kuala Lumpur. Returning to Northern Ireland when Malaya gained its independence, he became Vice-Principal of Larne Grammar School.
In 1968 he was commended by the Cloughfern Assembly, Co. Antrim to serve the Lord in Malaysia. Since 1973, when missionary visas were no longer granted by the Malaysian Government, he has visited Malaysia frequently to encourage the believers and preach the gospel. Today he preaches the gospel and ministers the Word of God throughout the British Isles as well as the United States, Canada and many other parts of the world. He is highly valued and appreciated for his ministry and especially his studies on Creation and Prophecy.

Preface
They follow the noblest example who seek to open the Scriptures to others, for our Lord Himself did so for those two dejected disciples of Emmaus (Luke 24:32). Whether it is the evangelist “opening and alleging that Christ must needs have suffered and risen from the dead” (Acts 17:3) or the pastor-teacher “expounding … in all the scriptures the things concerning himself” (Luke 24:27) or stimulating our hope “through the patience and comfort of the scriptures” (Rom 15:4), he serves well in thus giving attendance to the reading of the Scriptures (1 Tim 4:13).
It is of course of equal moment to recognise in the exercise of able men, the continued faithfulness of the risen Head in giving gifts to the Church, in spite of her unfaithfulness. How good to recognise that “the perfecting of the saints … the work of the ministry … the ...
