Introduction
The gospel works everywhere. It’s a beautiful statement full of truth.
Jesus died for all, so that we all may rise with him. He emptied himself for the weak and frail. He gave of himself for the impoverished. He called the rich to be more. He suffered for the sick and the hurting. He was beaten for the broken and the wounded. He was executed for the self-righteous and proud. For all of us, he suffered, died, and rose. Jesus is God with us. He is truth, eternal life, salvation, and so much more. And he is all about having a real relationship with us.
The message of Jesus works everywhere—it’s good news to all. I’ve seen it with my own eyes as I’ve traveled the US, Canada, parts of Europe, and India. I’ve seen Jesus change the lives of people all over our planet, both the impoverished and the wealthy, both the sick and the healthy. Whatever the barrier, I have seen Jesus overcome it. He works miracles.
Jesus is my salvation, and oh, it is sweet. Jesus is the land flowing with milk and honey. He is what I need and what you need. He is what our world needs. He is peace and love. He is the melody every good song desires to be.
I have also had the wonderful privilege of helping edit the stories contained in this book when they were originally Bible Study Magazine articles. Each of the leaders featured here has inspired me to be more and do more for Jesus. They have shown me what it really means to call myself a Christian. In how these leaders live and act, they have shown me Jesus himself.
