We thank God for the opportunity to encourage His people to spend ‘Moments with the Master’ in this latest addition to our Day by Day series. The Committee, from the first sight of a draft syllabus of these daily readings until the completion of this book, has unanimously encouraged, prayed for and provided some meditations for it. Specifically, we must express thanks to Publications sub-committee members Malcolm Horlock and Ivan Steeds, for their helpful suggestions throughout, and for their prompt and close attention to detail in the mass of proof-reading toward the end of the project. Roy Hill’s expertise in the whole publishing field, together with his advice and help, patience and perseverance throughout, have greatly enhanced the appearance and quality of the end-product too.

But the Precious Seed Committee would have little profitable written ministry for the readers of its magazine, or for its book publications without the support of many busy, gifted servants of the Lord who, so unstintingly, are happy to help us. Moments with the Master is the richer for the contributions of twenty-two different writers drawn from Canada, Germany, England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, and Wales. Their names and written contributions are listed overleaf. We thank God for the gift given them, for their readiness to write, and not least for their patience through the editing processes! Such labour of love is not in vain in the Lord.

The four maps solicited to assist readers to follow the Master’s movements during His life among men were produced specially for this book by Jonathan Colman of Cardiff. We gratefully acknowledge his excellent contributions also.

We commend to our God for His blessing this little book, only too conscious of the limitations which ‘vessels of clay’ have imposed upon radiating the treasure within them. Our prayer is that the Spirit of truth may use these meditations to glorify the Son of God, promoting a deepened heart-longing in us all to be with Him, to be more like Him and to actively serve Him until we see Him whom ‘having not seen’ we love.
