The Analytical Bible Expositor, by John G. Butler, is an extensively organized chapter-by-chapter commentary of the entire Bible. It is much easier to read and understand than the typical commentary which is plagued with small print, heavy intellectual arguments, and language that is often difficult to understand. Every chapter in this work is treated as a unit and is organized and written in the typical analytical and alliterated style of the author. The commentary, or annotations, of the text combine exposition with practical application. This commentary will prove especially helpful for both the preacher and teacher. It will not only help them to understand the Scripture but will organize the Biblical text and give them a multitude of invaluable sermon and lesson outlines.
The author, John G. Butler, was born and raised in a small rural community in north-central Iowa. He has been a Baptist minister for over half a century and pastored for some forty years with pastorates in Williamsburg, Ohio; Detroit, Michigan; Chicago, Illinois; and Clinton, Iowa. He is a veteran of the United States Navy, attended Tennessee Temple University and graduated from Cedarville University back when these schools were sound fundamental schools, conservative in doctrine and practice. Butler has been married to his college sweetheart for over fifty years. They have three children and five grandchildren. Butler is also the author of the Bible Biography Series—a twenty-seven volume series about major Bible characters which is the most extensive Bible character series in print, the Studies of the Savior—a ten volume series about Jesus Christ, and the Daily Bible Reading—a unique four volume devotional series that emphasizes expository Bible study.
