Introduction
And there went forth a wind from the LORD, and brought quails from the sea, and let them fall by the camp…as it were a day’s journey on the other side, round about the camp...
But he himself went a day’s journey into the wilderness...
And Jonah began to enter into the city a day’s journey...

Whether the path before you leads ‘round about the camp’ of fellowship or into a solitary wilderness of testing, whether you travel to minister to the rebellious city of Nineveh or to the Holy City of Jerusalem to see Jesus and await His power, it is our prayer that these meditations from the Word will provide sustenance and light for your day’s journey.

The results of a poll came out recently in the San Francisco Chronicle listing the ten biggest disappointments in the world of tourism...
Number one was the Polo Lounge in Hollywood where movie stars supposedly hung out. Tourists by the thousands would go into the Polo Lounge, but all they would see were other tourists. Number two was one of the casinos in Monte Carlo. Number three was Bethlehem.
Bethlehem is indeed a major disappointment for tourists because they go there expecting to see something special, but when they arrive, all they see is a somewhat dirty little city.
They go into the church of the Nativity, assuming it will be awesome. But as they walk in, they see the church itself divided into three sections: Catholic, Eastern, and Russian Orthodox because these three groups have been fighting for centuries over who should control the site. And there are objects hanging from the ceiling which look like Christmas tree ornaments in a garage sale. With church groups ...
