Introduction

We are pleased to present to you the Tyndale Handbook of Bible Charts and Maps, the most comprehensive and up-to-date collection of its kind. The over 530 Bible charts and over 200 high-resolution Bible maps will add a new dimension and depth to your personal or group study of Scripture. As an added benefit, the enclosed CD contains the entire handbook text, with full-color maps, powerful search and navigation features, and the entire text of the New Living Translation. The licensing arrangement for both the handbook and the CD allows you to print and photocopy charts and maps for personal study or to create handouts and overheads for group use. All in all, the Tyndale Handbook of Bible Charts and Maps is a powerful and flexible study and teaching tool!

How to Use the Handbook

The charts and maps in the Tyndale Handbook of Bible Charts and Maps are grouped by Bible book and arranged in the same order as the Bible text. So, as you are studying a passage of Scripture, you can easily open the handbook and see what charts and maps are available for that portion of Scripture.

Or, if you are doing a topical study of Scripture, you can look in the comprehensive index at the back of the handbook (p. 591) and see what charts and maps cover that topic. The index includes general topics as well as references to people and places covered by the charts and maps.

If you want to photocopy individual pages for personal study or group use, go ahead! The licensing agreement allows you to make up to 300 copies of individual pages for these purposes. (Of course, you shouldn’t republish the maps or charts without written permission from Tyndale House Publishers.)

To get the greatest benefit from the Tyndale Handbook of Bible Charts and Maps, you should consider the other volumes of the Tyndale Reference Library. These include the Tyndale Bible Dictionary, which contains in-depth information about the people, places, and topics covered by the handbook; and the Tyndale Concise Bible Commentary, a succinct single-volume overview of Scripture that will help orient you as you study any Bible book or Scripture passage.
