Christ’s Brothers Do Not Believe

7 After these things Jesus walked in Galilee; for He did not want to walk in Judea, abecause the 1Jews sought to kill Him. bNow the Jews’ Feast of Tabernacles was at hand. cHis brothers therefore said to Him, “Depart from here and go into Judea, that Your disciples also may see the works that You are doing. For no one does anything in secret while he himself seeks to be known openly. If You do these things, show Yourself to the world.” For deven His ebrothers did not believe in Him.

Then Jesus said to them, f“My time has not yet come, but your time is always ready. gThe world cannot hate you, but it hates Me hbecause I testify of it that its works are evil. You go up to this feast. I am not 2yet going up to this feast, ifor My time has not yet fully come.” When He had said these things to them, He remained in Galilee.

About The New King James Version

The New King James Version is a total update of the 1611 King James Version, also known as the "Authorized Version." Every attempt has been made to maintain the beauty of the original version while updating the English grammar to contemporary style and usage. The result is much better "readability." It is noteworthy that the NKJV is one of the few modern translations still based on the "Western" or "Byzantine" manuscript tradition. This makes the New King James Version an invaluable aid to comparative English Bible study.
