4 As the third step in the sequence, she turns from the guards and immediately finds her lover. The verbs here are remarkable. The verb rendered “turn from” is עבר, which connotes crossing a barrier or boundary. She then seizes (אחז) her lover and will not loosen (רפה) her grip.
