PSALM 33

Praise to the Creator and Preserver.

1 aSing for joy in the Lord, O you righteous ones;

Praise is bbecoming to the upright.

2 Give thanks to the Lord with the alyre;

Sing praises to Him with a bharp of ten strings.

3 Sing to Him a anew song;

Play skillfully with ba shout of joy.

4 For the word of the Lord ais upright,

And all His work is done bin faithfulness.

5 He aloves righteousness and justice;

The bearth is full of the lovingkindness of the Lord.

6 By the aword of the Lord the heavens were made,

And bby the breath of His mouth call their host.

7 He gathers the awaters of the sea together 1as a heap;

He lays up the deeps in storehouses.

8 Let aall the earth fear the Lord;

Let all the inhabitants of the world bstand in awe of Him.

9 For aHe spoke, and it was done;

He commanded, and it 1stood fast.

10 The Lord anullifies the counsel of the nations;

He frustrates the plans of the peoples.

11 The acounsel of the Lord stands forever,

The bplans of His heart from generation to generation.

12 Blessed is the anation whose God is the Lord,

The people whom He has bchosen for His own inheritance.

13 The Lord alooks from heaven;

He bsees all the sons of men;

14 From aHis dwelling place He looks out

On all the inhabitants of the earth,

15 He who afashions 1the hearts of them all,

He who bunderstands all their works.

16 aThe king is not saved by a mighty army;

A warrior is not delivered by great strength.

17 A ahorse is a false hope for victory;

Nor does it deliver anyone by its great strength.

18 Behold, athe eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him,

On those who 1bhope for His lovingkindness,

19 To adeliver their soul from death

And to keep them alive bin famine.

20 Our soul awaits for the Lord;

He is our bhelp and our shield.

21 For our aheart rejoices in Him,

Because we trust in His holy name.

22 Let Your lovingkindness, O Lord, be upon us,

According as we have 1hoped in You.

About New American Standard Bible: 1995 Update

The New American Standard Bible, long considered a favorite study Bible by serious students of the Scriptures, has been completely revised and updated in this new 1995 translation. Preserving the Lockman Foundation's standard of creating a literal translation of the original Greek, Hebrew, and Aramaic manuscripts, the 1995 NASB provides a literal translation that is very readable. Formalized language and outdated words and phrases have been replaced with their contemporary counterparts. In short, the 1995 NASB is a Bible translation that is very conducive to word-by-word study and is also able to be read (and understood) by the whole family.
