Parable of the Woman and the Judge

18 Then He spoke a parable to them, that men aalways ought to pray and not lose heart, saying: “There was in a certain city a judge who did not fear God nor 1regard man. Now there was a widow in that city; and she came to him, saying, 2‘Get justice for me from my adversary.’ And he would not for a while; but afterward he said within himself, ‘Though I do not fear God nor regard man, byet because this widow troubles me I will 3avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.’ ”

Then the Lord said, “Hear what the unjust judge said. And cshall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them? I tell you dthat He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?”

About The New King James Version

The New King James Version is a total update of the 1611 King James Version, also known as the "Authorized Version." Every attempt has been made to maintain the beauty of the original version while updating the English grammar to contemporary style and usage. The result is much better "readability." It is noteworthy that the NKJV is one of the few modern translations still based on the "Western" or "Byzantine" manuscript tradition. This makes the New King James Version an invaluable aid to comparative English Bible study.
