1 *aThat which was from the beginning, which bwe have heard, which bwe have seen with our eyes, which cwe have looked upon, and dour hands have handled, of the Word eof life; (For ethe life fwas manifested, and bwe have seen it, and gbear witness, and shew unto you hthat eternal life, iwhich was with the Father, and fwas manifested unto us;) That which bwe have seen and bheard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly kour fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. And these things write we unto you, lthat your joy may be full. mThis then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that nGod is light, and in him is no darkness at all. oIf we say that we have fellowship with him, and pwalk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and qthe blood of rJesus Christ his Son scleanseth us from all sin. tIf we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and uthe truth is not in us. vIf we confess our sins, he is xfaithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to scleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 yIf we say that we have not sinned, zwe make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
