The term creation has a number of meanings in current usage. But it always refers to an act by which something which has not previously existed in this form is brought into being. In Gk. there are two groups of words which denote this idea. In both cases the terms can have many different shades of meaning which vary according to context. katabolē refers primarily to foundation, and thus can mean beginning, that which gives something direction and determination.
