COLOSSIANS Introduction Among those who came to Paul and were welcomed by him during his Roman imprisonment was Epaphras. He came from Colossae, a city in Asia Minor some 125 miles east of Ephesus. He brought Paul news of the Gentile church that had been founded there, probably by Epaphras himself (Cl 1:5–8), working under the direction of Paul or at least with Paul’s full approval (Cl 1:7).
