1 Praise 1the Lord!

aPraise the Lord, O my soul!

2 bWhile I live I will praise the Lord;

I will sing praises to my God while I have my being.

3 cDo not put your trust in princes,

Nor in 2a son of man, in whom there is no 3help.

4 dHis spirit departs, he returns to his earth;

I will praise the Lord all my life;

I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.

Do not put your trust in princes,

in human beings, who cannot save.

When their spirit departs, they return to the ground;
