11 Where now is the lions’ den,

the place where they fed their young,

where the lion and lioness went,

11 Where is the dwelling of the lions,

And the feedingplace of the young lions,

Where the lion, even the old lion, walked,

And the lion’s whelp, and none made them afraid?

11 Where now is that great Nineveh,

that den filled with young lions?

It was a place where people—like lions and their cubs—

walked freely and without fear.

and the cave of the fierce lions?

There the lioness, the cub, and the lion once prowled,

and no one disturbed them.

11 Assyria is like a lion.

Where is the lions’ den now?

Where did they feed their cubs?

Where did all of the lions go?

In their den they had nothing to fear.
