Isaiah 10:24–26 — The New International Version (NIV)

24 Therefore this is what the Lord, the Lord Almighty, says:

“My people who live in Zion,

do not be afraid of the Assyrians,

who beat you with a rod

and lift up a club against you, as Egypt did.

25 Very soon my anger against you will end

and my wrath will be directed to their destruction.”

26 The Lord Almighty will lash them with a whip,

as when he struck down Midian at the rock of Oreb;

and he will raise his staff over the waters,

as he did in Egypt.

Isaiah 10:24–26 — English Standard Version (ESV)

24 Therefore thus says the Lord God of hosts: “O my people, who dwell in Zion, be not afraid of the Assyrians when they strike with the rod and lift up their staff against you as the Egyptians did. 25 For in a very little while my fury will come to an end, and my anger will be directed to their destruction. 26 And the Lord of hosts will wield against them a whip, as when he struck Midian at the rock of Oreb. And his staff will be over the sea, and he will lift it as he did in Egypt.

Isaiah 10:24–26 — King James Version (KJV 1900)

24 Therefore thus saith the Lord God of hosts,

O my people that dwellest in Zion,

Be not afraid of the Assyrian:

He shall smite thee with a rod,

And shall lift up his staff against thee, after the manner of Egypt.

25 For yet a very little while, and the indignation shall cease,

And mine anger in their destruction.

26 And the Lord of hosts shall stir up a scourge for him

According to the slaughter of Midian at the rock of Oreb:

And as his rod was upon the sea,

So shall he lift it up after the manner of Egypt.

Isaiah 10:24–26 — New Living Translation (NLT)

24 So this is what the Lord, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, says: “O my people in Zion, do not be afraid of the Assyrians when they oppress you with rod and club as the Egyptians did long ago. 25 In a little while my anger against you will end, and then my anger will rise up to destroy them.” 26 The Lord of Heaven’s Armies will lash them with his whip, as he did when Gideon triumphed over the Midianites at the rock of Oreb, or when the Lord’s staff was raised to drown the Egyptian army in the sea.

Isaiah 10:24–26 — New Century Version (NCV)

24 This is what the Lord God All-Powerful says:

“My people living in Jerusalem,

don’t be afraid of the Assyrians,

who beat you with a rod

and raise a stick against you, as Egypt did.

25 After a short time my anger against you will stop,

and then I will turn my anger to destroying them.”

26 Then the Lord All-Powerful will beat the Assyrians with a whip

as he defeated Midian at the rock of Oreb.

He will raise his stick over the waters

as he did in Egypt.

Isaiah 10:24–26 — American Standard Version (ASV)

24 Therefore thus saith the Lord, Jehovah of hosts, O my people that dwellest in Zion, be not afraid of the Assyrian, though he smite thee with the rod, and lift up his staff against thee, after the manner of Egypt. 25 For yet a very little while, and the indignation against thee shall be accomplished, and mine anger shall be directed to his destruction. 26 And Jehovah of hosts will stir up against him a scourge, as in the slaughter of Midian at the rock of Oreb: and his rod will be over the sea, and he will lift it up after the manner of Egypt.

Isaiah 10:24–26 — 1890 Darby Bible (DARBY)

24 Therefore thus saith the Lord, Jehovah of hosts: O my people that dwellest in Zion, be not afraid of the Assyrian; he shall smite thee with a rod, and shall lift up his staff against thee, after the manner of Egypt: 25 for yet a very little while, and the indignation shall be accomplished, and mine anger, in their destruction. 26 And Jehovah of hosts will stir up a scourge against him, according to the slaughter of Midian at the rock of Oreb; and his rod shall be upon the sea, and he will lift it up after the manner of Egypt.

Isaiah 10:24–26 — GOD’S WORD Translation (GW)

24 The Almighty Lord of Armies says:

My people who live in Zion,

don’t be afraid of the Assyrians when they strike with a rod

or when they raise their staff against you

as the Egyptians did.

25 Very soon I will unleash my fury,

and my anger will destroy them.

26 Then the Lord of Armies will raise his whip against them.

As he struck down Midian at the Rock of Oreb

and raised his staff over the water,

so he will lift it as he did in Egypt.

Isaiah 10:24–26 — The Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)

24 Therefore, the Lord God of Hosts says this: “My people who dwell in Zion, do not fear Assyria, though he strikes you with a rod and raises his staff over you as the Egyptians did. 25 In just a little while My wrath will be spent and My anger will turn to their destruction.” 26 And the Lord of Hosts will brandish a whip against him as He did when He struck Midian at the rock of Oreb; and He will raise His staff over the sea as He did in Egypt.

Isaiah 10:24–26 — The New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)

24 Therefore thus says the Lord God of hosts: O my people, who live in Zion, do not be afraid of the Assyrians when they beat you with a rod and lift up their staff against you as the Egyptians did. 25 For in a very little while my indignation will come to an end, and my anger will be directed to their destruction. 26 The Lord of hosts will wield a whip against them, as when he struck Midian at the rock of Oreb; his staff will be over the sea, and he will lift it as he did in Egypt.

“My people who live in Zion,

you must not be afraid of Assyria.

It beats you with the rod,

and it lifts up its staff against you as the Egyptians did.

25 My indignation will come to an end in just a very little while,

and my anger will be directed to their destruction.”

26 And Yahweh of hosts is going to swing a whip against him,

as when Midian was defeated at the rock of Oreb;

and his staff will be over the sea,

and he will lift him up as he did in Egypt.

Isaiah 10:24–26 — New International Reader’s Version (1998) (NIrV)

24 The Lord rules over all. The Lord says,

“My people who live in Zion,

do not be afraid of the Assyrian army.

They beat you with rods.

They lift up war clubs against you,

just as the Egyptians did.

25 Very soon I will not be angry with you anymore.

I will turn my anger against the Assyrians.

I will destroy them.”

26 The Lord who rules over all will beat them with a whip.

He will strike them down as he struck Midian down at the rock of Oreb.

And he will reach his wooden staff out over the waters.

That’s what he did in Egypt.

Isaiah 10:24–26 — New American Standard Bible: 1995 Update (NASB95)

25 “For in a very little while My indignation against you will be spent and My anger will be directed to their destruction.”

26 The Lord of hosts will arouse a scourge against him like the slaughter of Midian at the rock of Oreb; and His staff will be over the sea and He will lift it up the way He did in Egypt.
