Hosea 9:1–2 — The New International Version (NIV)

Do not rejoice, Israel;

do not be jubilant like the other nations.

For you have been unfaithful to your God;

you love the wages of a prostitute

at every threshing floor.

Threshing floors and winepresses will not feed the people;

the new wine will fail them.

Hosea 9:1–2 — English Standard Version (ESV)

Rejoice not, O Israel!

Exult not like the peoples;

for you have played the whore, forsaking your God.

You have loved a prostitute’s wages

on all threshing floors.

Threshing floor and wine vat shall not feed them,

and the new wine shall fail them.

Hosea 9:1–2 — King James Version (KJV 1900)

Rejoice not, O Israel, for joy, as other people:

For thou hast gone a whoring from thy God,

Thou hast loved a reward upon every cornfloor.

The floor and the winepress shall not feed them,

And the new wine shall fail in her.

Hosea 9:1–2 — New Living Translation (NLT)

O people of Israel,

do not rejoice as other nations do.

For you have been unfaithful to your God,

hiring yourselves out like prostitutes,

worshiping other gods on every threshing floor.

So now your harvests will be too small to feed you.

There will be no grapes for making new wine.

Hosea 9:1–2 — New Century Version (NCV)

Israel, do not rejoice;

don’t shout for joy as the other nations do.

You have been like a prostitute against your God.

You love the pay of prostitutes on every threshing floor.

But the threshing floor and the winepress will not feed the people,

and there won’t be enough new wine.

Hosea 9:1–2 — American Standard Version (ASV)

Rejoice not, O Israel, for joy, like the peoples; for thou hast played the harlot, departing from thy God; thou hast loved hire upon every grain-floor. The threshing-floor and the winepress shall not feed them, and the new wine shall fail her.

Hosea 9:1–2 — 1890 Darby Bible (DARBY)

Rejoice not, Israel, exultingly, as the peoples; for thou hast gone a whoring from thy God, thou hast loved harlot’s hire upon every corn-floor. The floor and the winepress shall not feed them, and the new wine shall fail her.

Hosea 9:1–2 — GOD’S WORD Translation (GW)

Israel, don’t rejoice.

Don’t celebrate as other nations do.

You have been unfaithful to your God.

You have sold sex on every threshing floor.

There won’t be enough grain to feed people.

There won’t be enough wine to go around.

Hosea 9:1–2 — The Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)

Israel, do not rejoice jubilantly as the nations do,

for you have acted promiscuously, leaving your God.

You have loved the wages of a prostitute

on every grain-threshing floor.

Threshing floor and wine vat will not sustain them,

and the new wine will fail them.

Hosea 9:1–2 — The New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)

Do not rejoice, O Israel!

Do not exult as other nations do;

for you have played the whore, departing from your God.

You have loved a prostitute’s pay

on all threshing floors.

Threshing floor and wine vat shall not feed them,

and the new wine shall fail them.

Hosea 9:1–2 — The Lexham English Bible (LEB)

Do not rejoice, O Israel,

do not exult like the nations!

For you played the whore, departing from your God;

you loved a harlot’s wage

on all the threshing floors of grain.

Threshing floor and wine vat will not feed them,

and new wine will fail her.

Hosea 9:1–2 — New International Reader’s Version (1998) (NIrV)

Israel, don’t be joyful.

Don’t be glad as the other nations are.

You haven’t been faithful to your God.

You love to get paid for being a prostitute.

Your pay is the grain at every threshing floor.

But soon there won’t be any grain or wine to feed you.

There won’t even be any fresh wine.

Hosea 9:1–2 — New American Standard Bible: 1995 Update (NASB95)

Do not rejoice, O Israel, with exultation like the nations!

For you have played the harlot, forsaking your God.

You have loved harlotsearnings on every threshing floor.

Threshing floor and wine press will not feed them,

And the new wine will fail them.
