Hebrews 13:4–6 — The New International Version (NIV)

Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral. Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said,

“Never will I leave you;

never will I forsake you.”

So we say with confidence,

“The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid.

What can mere mortals do to me?”

Hebrews 13:4–6 — English Standard Version (ESV)

Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous. Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” So we can confidently say,

“The Lord is my helper;

I will not fear;

what can man do to me?”

Hebrews 13:4–6 — King James Version (KJV 1900)

Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge. Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

Hebrews 13:4–6 — New Living Translation (NLT)

Give honor to marriage, and remain faithful to one another in marriage. God will surely judge people who are immoral and those who commit adultery.

Don’t love money; be satisfied with what you have. For God has said,

“I will never fail you.

I will never abandon you.”

So we can say with confidence,

“The Lord is my helper,

so I will have no fear.

What can mere people do to me?”

Hebrews 13:4–6 — New Century Version (NCV)

Marriage should be honored by everyone, and husband and wife should keep their marriage pure. God will judge as guilty those who take part in sexual sins. Keep your lives free from the love of money, and be satisfied with what you have. God has said,

“I will never leave you;

I will never abandon you.”

So we can be sure when we say,

“I will not be afraid, because the Lord is my helper.

People can’t do anything to me.”

Hebrews 13:4–6 — American Standard Version (ASV)

Let marriage be had in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled: for fornicators and adulterers God will judge. Be ye free from the love of money; content with such things as ye have: for himself hath said, I will in no wise fail thee, neither will I in any wise forsake thee. So that with good courage we say,

The Lord is my helper; I will not fear:

What shall man do unto me?

Hebrews 13:4–6 — 1890 Darby Bible (DARBY)

Let marriage be held every way in honour, and the bed be undefiled; for fornicators and adulterers will God judge. Let your conversation be without love of money, satisfied with your present circumstances; for he has said, I will not leave thee, neither will I forsake thee. So that, taking courage, we may say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not be afraid: what will man do unto me?

Hebrews 13:4–6 — GOD’S WORD Translation (GW)

Marriage is honorable in every way, so husbands and wives should be faithful to each other. God will judge those who commit sexual sins, especially those who commit adultery.

“The Lord is my helper.

I will not be afraid.

What can mortals do to me?”

The Lord is my helper;

I will not be afraid.

What will man do to me?”

Hebrews 13:4–6 — New International Reader’s Version (1998) (NIrV)

All of you should honor marriage. You should keep the marriage bed pure. God will judge the person who commits adultery. He will judge everyone who commits sexual sins.

Don’t be controlled by love for money. Be happy with what you have. God has said,

“I will never leave you.

I will never desert you.”

So we can say boldly,

“The Lord helps me. I will not be afraid.

What can a mere man do to me?”
