19 “ ‘Lord,’ I replied, ‘these people know that I went from one synagogue to another to imprison and beat those who believe in you.

19 And I said, ‘Lord, they themselves know that in one synagogue after another I imprisoned and beat those who believed in you.

19 And I said, Lord, they know that I imprisoned and beat in every synagogue them that believed on thee:

19 “ ‘But Lord,’ I argued, ‘they certainly know that in every synagogue I imprisoned and beat those who believed in you.

19 But I said, ‘Lord, they know that in every synagogue I put the believers in jail and beat them.

19 And I said, Lord, they themselves know that I imprisoned and beat in every synagogue them that believed on thee:

19 And I said, Lord, they themselves know that I was imprisoning and beating in every synagogue those that believe on thee;

19 “I said, ‘Lord, people here know that I went from synagogue to synagogue to imprison and whip those who believe in you.

19 “But I said, ‘Lord, they know that in synagogue after synagogue I had those who believed in You imprisoned and beaten.

19 And I said, ‘Lord, they themselves know that in every synagogue I imprisoned and beat those who believed in you.

19 And I said, ‘Lord, they themselves know that from synagogue to synagogue I was imprisoning and beating those who believed in you.

19 “ ‘Lord,’ I replied, ‘these people know what I used to do. I went from one synagogue to another and put believers in prison. I also beat them.

19 “And I said, ‘Lord, they themselves understand that in one synagogue after another I used to imprison and beat those who believed in You.
