Psalm 7:11–16 — English Standard Version (ESV)
11 God is a righteous judge,
and a God who feels indignation every day.
12 If a man does not repent, God will whet his sword;
he has bent and readied his bow;
13 he has prepared for him his deadly weapons,
making his arrows fiery shafts.
14 Behold, the wicked man conceives evil
and is pregnant with mischief
and gives birth to lies.
15 He makes a pit, digging it out,
and falls into the hole that he has made.
16 His mischief returns upon his own head,
and on his own skull his violence descends.
Psalm 7:11–16 — King James Version (KJV 1900)
11 God judgeth the righteous,
And God is angry with the wicked every day.
12 If he turn not, he will whet his sword;
He hath bent his bow, and made it ready.
13 He hath also prepared for him the instruments of death;
He ordaineth his arrows against the persecutors.
14 Behold, he travaileth with iniquity,
And hath conceived mischief,
And brought forth falsehood.
15 He made a pit, and digged it,
And is fallen into the ditch which he made.
16 His mischief shall return upon his own head,
And his violent dealing shall come down upon his own pate.
Psalm 7:11–16 — New Living Translation (NLT)
11 God is an honest judge.
He is angry with the wicked every day.
12 If a person does not repent,
God will sharpen his sword;
he will bend and string his bow.
13 He will prepare his deadly weapons
and shoot his flaming arrows.
14 The wicked conceive evil;
they are pregnant with trouble
and give birth to lies.
15 They dig a deep pit to trap others,
then fall into it themselves.
16 The trouble they make for others backfires on them.
The violence they plan falls on their own heads.
Psalm 7:11–16 — The New King James Version (NKJV)
11 God is a just judge,
And God is angry with the wicked every day.
12 If he does not turn back,
He will sharpen His sword;
He bends His bow and makes it ready.
13 He also prepares for Himself instruments of death;
He makes His arrows into fiery shafts.
14 Behold, the wicked brings forth iniquity;
Yes, he conceives trouble and brings forth falsehood.
15 He made a pit and dug it out,
And has fallen into the ditch which he made.
16 His trouble shall return upon his own head,
And his violent dealing shall come down on his own crown.
Psalm 7:11–16 — New Century Version (NCV)
11 God judges by what is right,
and God is always ready to punish the wicked.
12 If they do not change their lives,
God will sharpen his sword;
he will string his bow and take aim.
13 He has prepared his deadly weapons;
he has made his flaming arrows.
14 There are people who think up evil
and plan trouble and tell lies.
15 They dig a hole to trap others,
but they will fall into it themselves.
16 They will get themselves into trouble;
the violence they cause will hurt only themselves.
Psalm 7:11–16 — American Standard Version (ASV)
11 God is a righteous judge,
Yea, a God that hath indignation every day.
12 If a man turn not, he will whet his sword;
He hath bent his bow, and made it ready;
13 He hath also prepared for him the instruments of death;
He maketh his arrows fiery shafts.
14 Behold, he travaileth with iniquity;
Yea, he hath conceived mischief, and brought forth falsehood.
15 He hath made a pit, and digged it,
And is fallen into the ditch which he made.
16 His mischief shall return upon his own head,
And his violence shall come down upon his own pate.
Psalm 7:11–16 — 1890 Darby Bible (DARBY)
11 God is a righteous judge, and a •God who is indignant all the day. 12 If one turn not, he will sharpen his sword; he hath bent his bow and made it ready, 13 And he hath prepared for him instruments of death; his arrows hath he made burning. 14 Behold, he travaileth with iniquity, yea, he hath conceived mischief, and brought forth falsehood: 15 He digged a pit, and hollowed it out, and is fallen into the hole that he made. 16 His mischief shall return upon his own head, and his violence shall come down upon his own pate.
Psalm 7:11–16 — GOD’S WORD Translation (GW)
11 God is a fair judge,
a God who is angered by injustice every day.
12 If a person does not change, God sharpens his sword.
By bending his bow, he makes it ready ⸤to shoot⸥.
13 He prepares his deadly weapons
and turns them into flaming arrows.
14 See how that person conceives evil,
is pregnant with harm,
and gives birth to lies.
15 He digs a pit and shovels it out.
Then he falls into the hole that he made ⸤for others⸥.
16 His mischief lands back on his own head.
His violence comes down on top of him.
Psalm 7:11–16 — The Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)

and a God who shows His wrath every day.
12 If anyone does not repent,
God will sharpen His sword;
He has strung His bow and made it ready.
13 He has prepared His deadly weapons;
He tips His arrows with fire.
14 See, the wicked one is pregnant with evil,
conceives trouble, and gives birth to deceit.
15 He dug a pit and hollowed it out

16 His trouble comes back on his own head,
and his violence falls on the top of his head.

14 See how they conceive evil,

15 They make a pit, digging it out,

and on their own heads their violence descends.
