Psalm 9:1–6 — English Standard Version (ESV)

I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart;

I will recount all of your wonderful deeds.

I will be glad and exult in you;

I will sing praise to your name, O Most High.

When my enemies turn back,

they stumble and perish before your presence.

For you have maintained my just cause;

you have sat on the throne, giving righteous judgment.

You have rebuked the nations; you have made the wicked perish;

you have blotted out their name forever and ever.

The enemy came to an end in everlasting ruins;

their cities you rooted out;

the very memory of them has perished.

Psalm 9:1–6 — King James Version (KJV 1900)

I will praise thee, O Lord, with my whole heart;

I will shew forth all thy marvellous works.

I will be glad and rejoice in thee:

I will sing praise to thy name, O thou most High.

When mine enemies are turned back,

They shall fall and perish at thy presence.

For thou hast maintained my right and my cause;

Thou satest in the throne judging right.

Thou hast rebuked the heathen, thou hast destroyed the wicked,

Thou hast put out their name for ever and ever.

O thou enemy, destructions are come to a perpetual end:

And thou hast destroyed cities;

Their memorial is perished with them.

Psalm 9:1–6 — New Living Translation (NLT)

I will praise you, Lord, with all my heart;

I will tell of all the marvelous things you have done.

I will be filled with joy because of you.

I will sing praises to your name, O Most High.

My enemies retreated;

they staggered and died when you appeared.

For you have judged in my favor;

from your throne you have judged with fairness.

You have rebuked the nations and destroyed the wicked;

you have erased their names forever.

The enemy is finished, in endless ruins;

the cities you uprooted are now forgotten.

Psalm 9:1–6 — The New King James Version (NKJV)

I will praise You, O Lord, with my whole heart;

I will tell of all Your marvelous works.

I will be glad and rejoice in You;

I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High.

When my enemies turn back,

They shall fall and perish at Your presence.

For You have maintained my right and my cause;

You sat on the throne judging in righteousness.

You have rebuked the nations,

You have destroyed the wicked;

You have blotted out their name forever and ever.

O enemy, destructions are finished forever!

And you have destroyed cities;

Even their memory has perished.

Psalm 9:1–6 — New Century Version (NCV)

I will praise you, Lord, with all my heart.

I will tell all the miracles you have done.

I will be happy because of you;

God Most High, I will sing praises to your name.

My enemies turn back;

they are overwhelmed and die because of you.

You have heard my complaint;

you sat on your throne and judged by what was right.

You spoke strongly against the foreign nations and destroyed the wicked;

you wiped out their names forever and ever.

The enemy is gone forever.

You destroyed their cities;

no one even remembers them.

Psalm 9:1–6 — American Standard Version (ASV)

I will give thanks unto Jehovah with my whole heart;

I will show forth all thy marvellous works.

I will be glad and exult in thee;

I will sing praise to thy name, O thou Most High.

When mine enemies turn back,

They stumble and perish at thy presence.

For thou hast maintained my right and my cause;

Thou sittest in the throne judging righteously.

Thou hast rebuked the nations, thou hast destroyed the wicked;

Thou hast blotted out their name for ever and ever.

The enemy are come to an end, they are desolate for ever;

And the cities which thou hast overthrown,

The very remembrance of them is perished.

I will praise Jehovah with my whole heart; I will recount all thy marvellous works. I will be glad and rejoice in thee; I will sing forth thy name, O Most High. When mine enemies turned back, they stumbled and perished at thy presence: For thou hast maintained my right and my cause. Thou sittest on the throne, judging righteously. Thou hast rebuked the nations, thou hast destroyed the wicked; thou hast put out their name for ever and ever. O enemy! destructions are ended for ever. —Thou hast also destroyed cities, even the remembrance of them hath perished.
