Psalm 96

96:1–13pp—1Ch 16:23–33

Sing to the Lordt a new song;u

sing to the Lord, all the earth.

Sing to the Lord, praise his name;v

proclaim his salvationw day after day.

Declare his gloryx among the nations,

his marvelous deedsy among all peoples.

For great is the Lord and most worthy of praise;z

he is to be feareda above all gods.b

For all the gods of the nations are idols,c

but the Lord made the heavens.d

Splendor and majestye are before him;

strength and gloryf are in his sanctuary.

Ascribe to the Lord,g all you families of nations,h

ascribe to the Lord glory and strength.

Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name;

bring an offeringi and come into his courts.j

Worship the Lordk in the splendor of hisa holiness;l

tremblem before him, all the earth.n

10 Say among the nations, “The Lord reigns.o

The world is firmly established,p it cannot be moved;q

he will judger the peoples with equity.s

11 Let the heavens rejoice,t let the earth be glad;u

let the sea resound, and all that is in it.

12 Let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them;

let all the trees of the forestv sing for joy.w

13 Let all creation rejoice before the Lord, for he comes,

he comes to judgex the earth.

He will judge the world in righteousnessy

and the peoples in his faithfulness.z

Psalm 97

The Lord reigns,a let the earth be glad;b

let the distant shoresc rejoice.

Cloudsd and thick darknesse surround him;

righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne.f

Fireg goes beforeh him

and consumesi his foes on every side.

His lightningj lights up the world;

the earthk sees and trembles.l

The mountains meltm like waxn before the Lord,

before the Lord of all the earth.o

The heavens proclaim his righteousness,p

and all peoples see his glory.q

All who worship imagesr are put to shame,s

those who boast in idolst

worship him,u all you gods!v

Zion hears and rejoices

and the villages of Judah are gladw

because of your judgments,x Lord.

For you, Lord, are the Most Highy over all the earth;z

you are exalteda far above all gods.

10 Let those who love the Lord hate evil,b

for he guardsc the lives of his faithful onesd

and deliverse them from the hand of the wicked.f

11 Light shinesa g on the righteoush

and joy on the upright in heart.i

12 Rejoice in the Lord,j you who are righteous,

and praise his holy name.k

Psalm 98

A psalm.

Sing to the Lordl a new song,m

for he has done marvelous things;n

his right hando and his holy armp

have worked salvationq for him.

The Lord has made his salvation knownr

and revealed his righteousnesss to the nations.t

He has rememberedu his love

and his faithfulness to Israel;

all the ends of the earthv have seen

the salvation of our God.w

Shout for joyx to the Lord, all the earth,

burst into jubilant song with music;

make music to the Lord with the harp,y

with the harp and the sound of singing,z

with trumpetsa and the blast of the ram’s hornb

shout for joyc before the Lord, the King.d

Let the seae resound, and everything in it,

the world, and all who live in it.f

Let the rivers clap their hands,g

let the mountainsh sing together for joy;

let them sing before the Lord,

for he comes to judge the earth.

He will judge the world in righteousness

and the peoples with equity.i

Psalm 99

The Lord reigns,j

let the nations tremble;k

he sits enthronedl between the cherubim,m

let the earth shake.

Great is the Lordn in Zion;o

he is exaltedp over all the nations.

Let them praiseq your great and awesome namer

he is holy.s

The Kingt is mighty, he loves justiceu

you have established equity;v

in Jacob you have done

what is just and right.w

Exaltx the Lord our God

and worship at his footstool;

he is holy.

Mosesy and Aaronz were among his priests,

Samuela was among those who called on his name;

they called on the Lord

and he answeredb them.

He spoke to them from the pillar of cloud;c

they kept his statutes and the decrees he gave them.

Lord our God,

you answered them;

you were to Israel a forgiving God,d

though you punishede their misdeeds.a

Exalt the Lord our God

and worship at his holy mountain,

for the Lord our God is holy.

Psalm 100

A psalm. For giving grateful praise.

Shout for joyf to the Lord, all the earth.

2 Worship the Lordg with gladness;

come before himh with joyful songs.

Know that the Lord is God.i

It is he who made us,j and we are hisa;

we are his people,k the sheep of his pasture.l

Enter his gates with thanksgivingm

and his courtsn with praise;

give thanks to him and praise his name.o

For the Lord is goodp and his love endures forever;q

his faithfulnessr continues through all generations.

Psalm 101

Of David. A psalm.

I will sing of your loves and justice;

to you, Lord, I will sing praise.

I will be careful to lead a blameless lifet

when will you come to me?

I will conduct the affairsu of my house

with a blameless heart.

I will not look with approval

on anything that is vile.v

I hate what faithless people do;w

I will have no part in it.

The perverse of heartx shall be far from me;

I will have nothing to do with what is evil.

Whoever slanders their neighbory in secret,

I will put to silence;

whoever has haughty eyesz and a proud heart,

I will not tolerate.

My eyes will be on the faithful in the land,

that they may dwell with me;

the one whose walk is blamelessa

will minister to me.

No one who practices deceit

will dwell in my house;

no one who speaks falsely

will stand in my presence.

Every morningb I will put to silence

all the wickedc in the land;

I will cut off every evildoerd

from the city of the Lord.e
