Joel 3:8–10

8 I will sell your sons and your daughters into the hand of the people of Judah, and they will sell them to the Sabeans, to a nation far away, for the Lord has spoken.”

9 Proclaim this among the nations:

Consecrate for war;

stir up the mighty men.

Let all the men of war draw near;

let them come up.

10 Beat your plowshares into swords,

and your pruning hooks into spears;

let the weak say, “I am a warrior.”

8 And I will sell your sons and your daughters

Into the hand of the children of Judah,

And they shall sell them to the Sabeans, to a people far off:

For the Lord hath spoken it.

9 Proclaim ye this among the Gentiles;

Prepare war, wake up the mighty men,

Let all the men of war draw near; let them come up:

10 Beat your plowshares into swords,

And your pruninghooks into spears:

Let the weak say, I am strong.

8 I will sell your sons and daughters to the people of Judah, and they will sell them to the people of Arabia, a nation far away. I, the Lord, have spoken!”

9 Say to the nations far and wide:

“Get ready for war!

Call out your best warriors.

Let all your fighting men advance for the attack.

10 Hammer your plowshares into swords

and your pruning hooks into spears.

Train even your weaklings to be warriors.

8 I will sell your sons and your daughters

Into the hand of the people of Judah,

And they will sell them to the Sabeans,

To a people far off;

For the Lord has spoken.”

9 Proclaim this among the nations:

“Prepare for war!

Wake up the mighty men,

Let all the men of war draw near,

Let them come up.

10 Beat your plowshares into swords

And your pruning hooks into spears;

Let the weak say, ‘I am strong.’ ”

8 I will sell your sons and daughters to the people of Judah, and they will sell them to the Sabean people far away.” The Lord said this.

9 Announce this among the nations:

Prepare for war!

Wake up the soldiers!

Let all the men of war come near and attack.

10 Make swords from your plows,

and make spears from your hooks for trimming trees.

Let even the weak person say,

“I am a soldier.”

9 Proclaim ye this among the nations; prepare war; stir up the mighty men; let all the men of war draw near, let them come up. 10 Beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruning-hooks into spears: let the weak say, I am strong.

9 Proclaim this among the nations: prepare war, arouse the mighty men, let all the men of war draw near, let them come up. 10 Beat your ploughshares into swords, and your pruning-knives into spears; let the weak say, I am strong.

8 I will sell your sons and daughters to the people of Judah. 

They will sell them to the people of Sheba, 

a nation that is far away.” 

The Lord has spoken. 

9 Announce this among the nations: 

Prepare yourselves for war. 

Wake up the warriors. 

Have all the warriors come near and attack. 

10 Hammer your plowblades into swords 

and your pruning shears into spears. 

Weaklings should say that they are warriors. 

8 I will sell your sons and daughters into the hands of the people of Judah, and they will sell them to the Sabeans, to a distant nation, for the Lord has spoken.

9 Proclaim this among the nations:

Prepare for holy war;

rouse the warriors;

let all the men of war advance and attack!

10 Beat your plows into swords

and your pruning knives into spears.

Let even the weakling say, “I am a warrior.”

8 I will sell your sons and your daughters into the hand of the people of Judah, and they will sell them to the Sabeans, to a nation far away, for the Lord has spoken.

9 Proclaim this among the nations:

Prepare for war!

Stir up the mighty warriors;

let them approach and come up;

let all the men of war approach.

10 Beat your cutting tools of iron into swords

and your pruning hooks into spears;

let the weakling say, ‘I am a mighty warrior!’

8 I will sell your sons and daughters to the people of Judah. And they will sell them to the Sabeans far away.” The Lord has spoken.

9 Announce this among the nations.

Tell them to prepare for battle.

Nations, get your soldiers ready!

Bring all of your fighting men together

and march out to attack.

10 Hammer your plows into swords.

Hammer your pruning tools into spears.

Let those who are weak say,

“We are soldiers!”

8 “Also I will sell your sons and your daughters into the hand of the sons of Judah, and they will sell them to the Sabeans, to a distant nation,” for the Lord has spoken.

9 Proclaim this among the nations:

Prepare a war; rouse the mighty men!

Let all the soldiers draw near, let them come up!

10 Beat your plowshares into swords

And your pruning hooks into spears;

Let the weak say, “I am a mighty man.”
