Jeremiah 8:10–11 — English Standard Version (ESV)
10 Therefore I will give their wives to others
and their fields to conquerors,
because from the least to the greatest
everyone is greedy for unjust gain;
from prophet to priest,
everyone deals falsely.
11 They have healed the wound of my people lightly,
saying, ‘Peace, peace,’
when there is no peace.
Jeremiah 8:10–11 — King James Version (KJV 1900)
10 Therefore will I give their wives unto others, and their fields to them that shall inherit them: for every one from the least even unto the greatest is given to covetousness, from the prophet even unto the priest every one dealeth falsely. 11 For they have healed the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace.
Jeremiah 8:10–11 — New Living Translation (NLT)
10 I will give their wives to others
and their farms to strangers.
From the least to the greatest,
their lives are ruled by greed.
Yes, even my prophets and priests are like that.
They are all frauds.
11 They offer superficial treatments
for my people’s mortal wound.
They give assurances of peace
when there is no peace.
Jeremiah 8:10–11 — The New King James Version (NKJV)
10 Therefore I will give their wives to others,
And their fields to those who will inherit them;
Because from the least even to the greatest
Everyone is given to covetousness;
From the prophet even to the priest
Everyone deals falsely.
11 For they have healed the hurt of the daughter of My people slightly,
Saying, ‘Peace, peace!’
When there is no peace.
Jeremiah 8:10–11 — New Century Version (NCV)
10 So I will give their wives to other men
and their fields to new owners.
Everyone, from the least important to the greatest,
is greedy for money.
Even the prophets and priests
all tell lies.
11 They tried to heal my people’s serious injuries
as if they were small wounds.
They said, “It’s all right, it’s all right.”
But really, it is not all right.
Jeremiah 8:10–11 — American Standard Version (ASV)
10 Therefore will I give their wives unto others, and their fields to them that shall possess them: for every one from the least even unto the greatest is given to covetousness; from the prophet even unto the priest every one dealeth falsely. 11 And they have healed the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace.
Jeremiah 8:10–11 — 1890 Darby Bible (DARBY)
10 Therefore will I give their wives unto others, their fields to those that shall possess them; for every one, from the least even unto the greatest, is given to covetousness; from the prophet even unto the priest, every one dealeth falsely. 11 And they have healed the breach of the daughter of my people lightly, saying, Peace, peace! when there is no peace.
Jeremiah 8:10–11 — GOD’S WORD Translation (GW)
10 That is why I will give their wives to other men
and their fields to new owners.
All of them, from the least important to the most important,
are eager to make money dishonestly.
All of them, from prophets to priests, act deceitfully.
11 They treat my dear people’s wounds
as though they were not serious, saying,
“Everything is alright! Everything is alright!”
But it’s not alright.
Jeremiah 8:10–11 — The Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)
10 Therefore, I will give their wives to other men,
their fields to new occupants,
for from the least to the greatest,
everyone is making profit dishonestly.
From prophet to priest,
everyone deals falsely.
11 They have treated superficially the brokenness
of My dear people,
claiming, ‘Peace, peace,’
when there is no peace.
Jeremiah 8:10–11 — The New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)
10 Therefore I will give their wives to others
and their fields to conquerors,
because from the least to the greatest
everyone is greedy for unjust gain;

everyone deals falsely.
11 They have treated the wound of my people carelessly,
saying, “Peace, peace,”
when there is no peace.
Jeremiah 8:10–11 — The Lexham English Bible (LEB)
10 Therefore I will give their wives to others,
their fields to conquerors,
because from the smallest to the greatest,
all of them make profit for unlawful gain,
from prophet to priest,
all of them practice deceit.

saying, ‘Peace, peace,’ but there is no peace.

I will give their fields to new owners.

from the least important of them to the most important.
Prophets and priests alike
try to fool everyone they can.
11 They bandage the wounds of my people
as if they were not very deep.
‘Peace, peace,’ they say.
But there isn’t any peace.

Saying, ‘Peace, peace,’
But there is no peace.
