Psalm 94:16–23 — The New International Version (NIV)

16 Who will rise up for me against the wicked?

Who will take a stand for me against evildoers?

17 Unless the Lord had given me help,

I would soon have dwelt in the silence of death.

18 When I said, “My foot is slipping,”

your unfailing love, Lord, supported me.

19 When anxiety was great within me,

your consolation brought me joy.

20 Can a corrupt throne be allied with you—

a throne that brings on misery by its decrees?

21 The wicked band together against the righteous

and condemn the innocent to death.

22 But the Lord has become my fortress,

and my God the rock in whom I take refuge.

23 He will repay them for their sins

and destroy them for their wickedness;

the Lord our God will destroy them.

Psalm 94:16–23 — English Standard Version (ESV)

16 Who rises up for me against the wicked?

Who stands up for me against evildoers?

17 If the Lord had not been my help,

my soul would soon have lived in the land of silence.

18 When I thought, “My foot slips,”

your steadfast love, O Lord, held me up.

19 When the cares of my heart are many,

your consolations cheer my soul.

20 Can wicked rulers be allied with you,

those who frame injustice by statute?

21 They band together against the life of the righteous

and condemn the innocent to death.

22 But the Lord has become my stronghold,

and my God the rock of my refuge.

23 He will bring back on them their iniquity

and wipe them out for their wickedness;

the Lord our God will wipe them out.

Psalm 94:16–23 — King James Version (KJV 1900)

16 Who will rise up for me against the evildoers?

Or who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?

17 Unless the Lord had been my help,

My soul had almost dwelt in silence.

18 When I said, My foot slippeth;

Thy mercy, O Lord, held me up.

19 In the multitude of my thoughts within me

Thy comforts delight my soul.

20 Shall the throne of iniquity have fellowship with thee,

Which frameth mischief by a law?

21 They gather themselves together against the soul of the righteous,

And condemn the innocent blood.

22 But the Lord is my defence;

And my God is the rock of my refuge.

23 And he shall bring upon them their own iniquity,

And shall cut them off in their own wickedness;

Yea, the Lord our God shall cut them off.

Psalm 94:16–23 — New Living Translation (NLT)

16 Who will protect me from the wicked?

Who will stand up for me against evildoers?

17 Unless the Lord had helped me,

I would soon have settled in the silence of the grave.

18 I cried out, “I am slipping!”

but your unfailing love, O Lord, supported me.

19 When doubts filled my mind,

your comfort gave me renewed hope and cheer.

20 Can unjust leaders claim that God is on their side—

leaders whose decrees permit injustice?

21 They gang up against the righteous

and condemn the innocent to death.

22 But the Lord is my fortress;

my God is the mighty rock where I hide.

23 God will turn the sins of evil people back on them.

He will destroy them for their sins.

The Lord our God will destroy them.

Psalm 94:16–23 — The New King James Version (NKJV)

16 Who will rise up for me against the evildoers?

Who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?

17 Unless the Lord had been my help,

My soul would soon have settled in silence.

18 If I say, “My foot slips,”

Your mercy, O Lord, will hold me up.

19 In the multitude of my anxieties within me,

Your comforts delight my soul.

20 Shall the throne of iniquity, which devises evil by law,

Have fellowship with You?

21 They gather together against the life of the righteous,

And condemn innocent blood.

22 But the Lord has been my defense,

And my God the rock of my refuge.

23 He has brought on them their own iniquity,

And shall cut them off in their own wickedness;

The Lord our God shall cut them off.

Psalm 94:16–23 — New Century Version (NCV)

16 Who will help me fight against the wicked?

Who will stand with me against those who do evil?

17 If the Lord had not helped me,

I would have died in a minute.

18 I said, “I am about to fall,”

but, Lord, your love kept me safe.

19 I was very worried,

but you comforted me and made me happy.

20 Crooked leaders cannot be your friends.

They use the law to cause suffering.

21 They join forces against people who do right

and sentence to death the innocent.

22 But the Lord is my defender;

my God is the rock of my protection.

23 God will pay them back for their sins

and will destroy them for their evil.

The Lord our God will destroy them.

Psalm 94:16–23 — American Standard Version (ASV)

16 Who will rise up for me against the evil-doers?

Who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?

17 Unless Jehovah had been my help,

My soul had soon dwelt in silence.

18 When I said, My foot slippeth;

Thy lovingkindness, O Jehovah, held me up.

19 In the multitude of my thoughts within me

Thy comforts delight my soul.

20 Shall the throne of wickedness have fellowship with thee,

Which frameth mischief by statute?

21 They gather themselves together against the soul of the righteous,

And condemn the innocent blood.

22 But Jehovah hath been my high tower,

And my God the rock of my refuge.

23 And he hath brought upon them their own iniquity,

And will cut them off in their own wickedness;

Jehovah our God will cut them off.

Psalm 94:16–23 — 1890 Darby Bible (DARBY)

16 Who will rise up for me against the evil-doers? who will stand for me against the workers of iniquity? 17 If Jehovah had not been my help, my soul had almost dwelt in silence. 18 When I said, My foot slippeth, thy loving-kindness, O Jehovah, held me up. 19 In the multitude of my anxious thoughts within me thy comforts have delighted my soul. 20 Shall the throne of wickedness be united to thee, which frameth mischief into a law? 21 They band together against the soul of the righteous, and condemn innocent blood. 22 But Jehovah will be my high tower; and my God the rock of my refuge. 23 And he will bring upon them their iniquity, and will cut them off in their own evil: Jehovah our God will cut them off.

Psalm 94:16–23 — GOD’S WORD Translation (GW)

16 Who will stand up for me against evildoers?

Who will stand by my side against troublemakers?

17 If the Lord had not come to help me,

my soul would have quickly fallen silent ⸤in death⸥.

18 When I said, “My feet are slipping,”

your mercy, O Lord, continued to hold me up.

19 When I worried about many things,

your assuring words soothed my soul.

20 Are wicked rulers who use the law to do unlawful things

able to be your partners?

21 They join forces to take the lives of righteous people.

They condemn innocent people to death.

22 The Lord has become my stronghold.

My God has become my rock of refuge.

23 He has turned their own wickedness against them.

He will destroy them because of their sins.

The Lord our God will destroy them.

Psalm 94:16–23 — The Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)

16 Who stands up for me against the wicked?

Who takes a stand for me against evildoers?

17 If the Lord had not been my helper,

I would soon rest in the silence of death.

18 If I say, “My foot is slipping,”

Your faithful love will support me, Lord.

19 When I am filled with cares,

Your comfort brings me joy.

20 Can a corrupt throne—

one that creates trouble by law—

become Your ally?

21 They band together against the life of the righteous

and condemn the innocent to death.

22 But the Lord is my refuge;

my God is the rock of my protection.

23 He will pay them back for their sins

and destroy them for their evil.

The Lord our God will destroy them.

Psalm 94:16–23 — The New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)

16 Who rises up for me against the wicked?

Who stands up for me against evildoers?

17 If the Lord had not been my help,

my soul would soon have lived in the land of silence.

18 When I thought, “My foot is slipping,”

your steadfast love, O Lord, held me up.

19 When the cares of my heart are many,

your consolations cheer my soul.

20 Can wicked rulers be allied with you,

those who contrive mischief by statute?

21 They band together against the life of the righteous,

and condemn the innocent to death.

22 But the Lord has become my stronghold,

and my God the rock of my refuge.

23 He will repay them for their iniquity

and wipe them out for their wickedness;

the Lord our God will wipe them out.

Psalm 94:16–23 — The Lexham English Bible (LEB)

16 Who rose up for me against the wicked?

Who stood up for me against the workers of iniquity?

17 If Yahweh had not been my help,

my soul would soon have dwelt in silence.

18 When I thought, “My foot is slipping,”

your loyal love, O Yahweh, supported me.

19 When my troubled thoughts were many within me,

your consolations cheered my soul.

20 Can there be allied with you a throne of destruction,

one that forms trouble based on statute?

21 They band together against the life of the righteous,

and declare the blameless guilty of blood.

22 But Yahweh has become my high stronghold,

and my God has become my rock of refuge.

23 And he will repay on them their iniquity,

and by their evil he will destroy them.

Yahweh our God will destroy them.

Psalm 94:16–23 — New International Reader’s Version (1998) (NIrV)

16 Who will rise up for me against sinful people?

Who will stand up for me against those who do evil?

17 Suppose the Lord had not helped me.

Then I would soon have been lying quietly in the grave.

18 I said, “My foot is slipping.”

But Lord, your love kept me from falling.

19 I was very worried.

But your comfort brought joy to my heart.

20 Can you have anything to do with rulers who aren’t fair?

Can those who make laws that cause suffering be friends of yours?

21 They join together against those who do what is right.

They sentence to death those who aren’t guilty of doing anything wrong.

22 But the Lord has become like a fort to me.

My God is my rock. I go to him for safety.

23 He will pay them back for their sins.

He will destroy them for their evil acts.

The Lord our God will destroy them.
