Matthew 15:7–10

7 You hypocrites, rightly did Isaiah prophesy of you:

8 aThis people honors Me with their lips,

But their heart is far away from Me.

9 But in vain do they worship Me,

Teaching as adoctrines the precepts of men.’ ”

10 After Jesus called the crowd to Him, He said to them, Hear and understand.

You hypocrites! Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you:

“ ‘These people honor me with their lips,

but their hearts are far from me.

They worship me in vain;

their teachings are merely human rules.

10 Jesus called the crowd to him and said, Listen and understand.
