John 7:26–27

26 “Look, He is speaking publicly, and they are saying nothing to Him. aThe rulers do not really know that this is 1the Christ, do they?

27 “However, awe know where this man is from; but whenever the Christ may come, no one knows where He is from.”

John 7:26–27 — The New International Version (NIV)

26 Here he is, speaking publicly, and they are not saying a word to him. Have the authorities really concluded that he is the Messiah? 27 But we know where this man is from; when the Messiah comes, no one will know where he is from.”
