John 19:28–29

28 After this, Jesus, aknowing that all things had already been accomplished, bto fulfill the Scripture, * said, cI am thirsty.”

29 A jar full of sour wine was standing there; so athey put a sponge full of the sour wine upon a branch of hyssop and brought it up to His mouth.

28 Later, knowing that everything had now been finished, and so that Scripture would be fulfilled, Jesus said, I am thirsty.” 29 A jar of wine vinegar was there, so they soaked a sponge in it, put the sponge on a stalk of the hyssop plant, and lifted it to Jesus’ lips.
