Joel 1:9–10

9 Grain offerings and drink offerings

are cut off from the house of the Lord.

The priests are in mourning,

those who minister before the Lord.

10 The fields are ruined,

the ground is dried up;

the grain is destroyed,

the new wine is dried up,

the olive oil fails.

9 The grain offering and the drink offering are cut off

from the house of the Lord.

The priests mourn,

the ministers of the Lord.

10 The fields are destroyed,

the ground mourns,

because the grain is destroyed,

the wine dries up,

the oil languishes.

9 The meat offering and the drink offering is cut off from the house of the Lord;

The priests, the Lord’s ministers, mourn.

10 The field is wasted, the land mourneth;

For the corn is wasted: the new wine is dried up, the oil languisheth.

9 For there is no grain or wine

to offer at the Temple of the Lord.

So the priests are in mourning.

The ministers of the Lord are weeping.

10 The fields are ruined,

the land is stripped bare.

The grain is destroyed,

the grapes have shriveled,

and the olive oil is gone.

9 The grain offering and the drink offering

Have been cut off from the house of the Lord;

The priests mourn, who minister to the Lord.

10 The field is wasted,

The land mourns;

For the grain is ruined,

The new wine is dried up,

The oil fails.

9 There will be no more grain or drink offerings

to offer in the Temple of the Lord.

Because of this, the priests,

the servants of the Lord, are sad.

10 The fields are ruined;

the ground is dried up.

The grain is destroyed,

the new wine is dried up,

and the olive oil runs out.

9 The meal-offering and the drink-offering are cut off from the house of Jehovah; the priests, Jehovah’s ministers, mourn. 10 The field is laid waste, the land mourneth; for the grain is destroyed, the new wine is dried up, the oil languisheth.

9 The oblation and the drink-offering are cut off from the house of Jehovah; the priests, Jehovah’s ministers, mourn. 10 The field is laid waste, the land mourneth; for the corn is wasted, the new wine is dried up, the oil languisheth.

9 Grain offerings and wine offerings 

are no longer brought to the Lord’s temple. 

The priests, the Lord’s servants, mourn. 

10 Israel’s fields are ruined, and the ground is dried up. 

The grain has been destroyed. 

The new wine has dried up. 

The olive oil has run out. 

9 Grain and drink offerings have been cut off

from the house of the Lord;

the priests, who are ministers of the Lord, mourn.

10 The fields are destroyed;

the land grieves;

indeed, the grain is destroyed;

the new wine is dried up;

and the olive oil fails.

9 The grain offering and the drink offering are cut off

from the house of the Lord.

The priests mourn,

the ministers of the Lord.

10 The fields are devastated,

the ground mourns,

for the grain is destroyed,

the wine dries up,

the oil fails.

9 The offering and libation are withheld

from the house of Yahweh.

The priests mourn,

the ministers of Yahweh.

10 The field is destroyed;

the earth mourns

because the grain is destroyed,

the new wine dries up,

the olive oil languishes.

9 No one brings grain offerings and drink offerings

to the Lord’s house anymore.

So the priests who serve the Lord

are filled with sorrow.

10 Our fields are wiped out.

The ground is dried up.

The grain is destroyed.

The fresh wine is gone.

And there isn’t any more olive oil.
