Jeremiah 46:9–10

9 Charge, you horses!

Drive furiously, you charioteers!

March on, you warriors—men of Cush and Put who carry shields,

men of Lydia who draw the bow.

10 But that day belongs to the Lord, the Lord Almighty—

a day of vengeance, for vengeance on his foes.

The sword will devour till it is satisfied,

till it has quenched its thirst with blood.

For the Lord, the Lord Almighty, will offer sacrifice

in the land of the north by the River Euphrates.

9 Advance, O horses,

and rage, O chariots!

Let the warriors go out:

men of Cush and Put who handle the shield,

men of Lud, skilled in handling the bow.

10 That day is the day of the Lord God of hosts,

a day of vengeance,

to avenge himself on his foes.

The sword shall devour and be sated

and drink its fill of their blood.

For the Lord God of hosts holds a sacrifice

in the north country by the river Euphrates.

9 Come up, ye horses; and rage, ye chariots;

And let the mighty men come forth;

The Ethiopians and the Libyans, that handle the shield;

And the Lydians, that handle and bend the bow.

10 For this is the day of the Lord God of hosts,

A day of vengeance, that he may avenge him of his adversaries:

And the sword shall devour, and it shall be satiate and made drunk with their blood:

For the Lord God of hosts hath a sacrifice

In the north country by the river Euphrates.

9 Charge, you horses and chariots;

attack, you mighty warriors of Egypt!

Come, all you allies from Ethiopia, Libya, and Lydia

who are skilled with the shield and bow!

10 For this is the day of the Lord, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies,

a day of vengeance on his enemies.

The sword will devour until it is satisfied,

yes, until it is drunk with your blood!

The Lord, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, will receive a sacrifice today

in the north country beside the Euphrates River.

9 Come up, O horses, and rage, O chariots!

And let the mighty men come forth:

The Ethiopians and the Libyans who handle the shield,

And the Lydians who handle and bend the bow.

10 For this is the day of the Lord God of hosts,

A day of vengeance,

That He may avenge Himself on His adversaries.

The sword shall devour;

It shall be satiated and made drunk with their blood;

For the Lord God of hosts has a sacrifice

In the north country by the River Euphrates.

9 Horsemen, charge into battle!

Chariot drivers, drive hard!

March on, brave soldiers—

soldiers from the countries of Cush and Put who carry shields,

soldiers from Lydia who use bows.

10 “But that day belongs to the Lord God All-Powerful.

At that time he will give those people the punishment they deserve.

The sword will kill until it is finished,

until it satisfies its thirst for their blood.

The Lord God All-Powerful will offer a sacrifice

in the land of the north, by the Euphrates River.

9 Go up, ye horses; and rage, ye chariots; and let the mighty men go forth: Cush and Put, that handle the shield; and the Ludim, that handle and bend the bow. 10 For that day is a day of the Lord, Jehovah of hosts, a day of vengeance, that he may avenge him of his adversaries: and the sword shall devour and be satiate, and shall drink its fill of their blood; for the Lord, Jehovah of hosts, hath a sacrifice in the north country by the river Euphrates.

9 Go up, ye horses, and drive furiously, ye chariots; and let the mighty men go forth: Cush and Phut that handle the shield, and the Ludim that handle the bow and bend it. 10 For this is the day of the Lord Jehovah of hosts, a day of vengeance, that he may be avenged of his adversaries; and the sword shall devour, and it shall be sated and made drunk with their blood; for the Lord Jehovah of hosts hath a sacrifice in the north country, by the river Euphrates.

9 Go into battle, you horsemen. 

Drive wildly, you chariot drivers. 

March into battle, you warriors, 

you warriors from Sudan and Put who carry shields, 

you warriors from Lydia who use bows and arrows. 

10 That day belongs to the Almighty Lord of Armies. 

It is a day of vengeance when he will take revenge on his enemies. 

His sword will devour until it has had enough, 

and it will drink their blood until it’s full. 

The Almighty Lord of Armies will offer them as sacrifices 

in the north by the Euphrates River. 

9 Rise up, you cavalry!

Race furiously, you chariots!

Let the warriors go out—

Cush and Put,

who are able to handle shields,

and the Ludim,

who are able to handle and string the bow.

10 That day belongs to the Lord, the God of Hosts,

a day of vengeance to avenge Himself

against His adversaries.

The sword will devour and be satisfied;

it will drink its fill of their blood,

because it will be a sacrifice to the Lord, the God of Hosts,

in the northern land by the Euphrates River.

and dash madly, O chariots!

Let the warriors go forth:

Cush and Put, who carry the shield,

the Ludim, who draw the bow.

10 That day is the day of the Lord God of hosts,

a day of retribution,

to gain vindication from his foes.

The sword shall devour and be sated

and drink its fill of their blood.

For the Lord God of hosts holds a sacrifice

in the land of the north by the River Euphrates.

9 Go up, O horses,

and drive madly, O chariots,

and let the warriors go forth;

Cush and Put, who wield the small shield,

and Lud, who wield and bend the bow.

10 For that day is to the Lord Yahweh of hosts

a day of retribution,

to take revenge on his foes.

And the sword will devour and be satisfied,

and it will drink its fill of their blood,

for a sacrifice is for the Lord Yahweh of hosts

in the land of the north by the Euphrates River.

9 Charge, you horses!

Drive fast, you chariot drivers!

March on, you soldiers!

March on, you men of Cush and Put who carry shields.

March on, you men of Lydia who draw bows.

10 But that day belongs to me.

I am the Lord who rules over all.

It is a day for me to pay back my enemies.

The sword will eat until it is satisfied.

It will drink until it has no more thirst for blood.

I am the Lord. I am the Lord who rules over all.

I will offer a sacrifice.

I will offer it in the land of the north

by the Euphrates River.
