5 And for your lifeblood I will surely demand an accounting. I will demand an accounting from every animal. And from each human being, too, I will demand an accounting for the life of another human being.

6 “Whoever sheds human blood,

by humans shall their blood be shed;

for in the image of God

has God made mankind.

7 As for you, be fruitful and increase in number; multiply on the earth and increase upon it.”

5 And for your lifeblood I will require a reckoning: from every beast I will require it and from man. From his fellow man I will require a reckoning for the life of man.

6 “Whoever sheds the blood of man,

by man shall his blood be shed,

for God made man in his own image.

7 And you, be fruitful and multiply, increase greatly on the earth and multiply in it.”

5 And surely your blood of your lives will I require; at the hand of every beast will I require it, and at the hand of man; at the hand of every man’s brother will I require the life of man. 6 Whoso sheddeth man’s blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man. 7 And you, be ye fruitful, and multiply; bring forth abundantly in the earth, and multiply therein.

5 “And I will require the blood of anyone who takes another person’s life. If a wild animal kills a person, it must die. And anyone who murders a fellow human must die. 6 If anyone takes a human life, that person’s life will also be taken by human hands. For God made human beings in his own image. 7 Now be fruitful and multiply, and repopulate the earth.”

5 Surely for your lifeblood I will demand a reckoning; from the hand of every beast I will require it, and from the hand of man. From the hand of every man’s brother I will require the life of man.

6 “Whoever sheds man’s blood,

By man his blood shall be shed;

For in the image of God

He made man.

7 And as for you, be fruitful and multiply;

Bring forth abundantly in the earth

And multiply in it.”

5 I will demand blood for life. I will demand the life of any animal that kills a person, and I will demand the life of anyone who takes another person’s life.

6 “Whoever kills a human being

will be killed by a human being,

because God made humans

in his own image.

7 “As for you, Noah, I want you and your family to have many children, to grow in number on the earth, and to become many.”

5 And indeed your blood, the blood of your lives, will I require: at the hand of every animal will I require it, and at the hand of Man, at the hand of each the blood of his brother, will I require the life of Man. 6 Whoso sheddeth Man’s blood, by Man shall his blood be shed; for in the image of God he hath made Man. 7 And ye, be fruitful and multiply: swarm on the earth, and multiply on it.

5 In addition, I will demand your blood for your life. I will demand it from any animal or from any person. I will demand the life of any person ⸤who kills⸥ another person. 

6 Whoever sheds human blood, 

by humans his blood will be shed, 

because in the image of God, God made humans. 

7 Be fertile, and increase in number. Spread over the earth, and increase.” 

5 I will require the life of every animal and every man for your life and your blood. I will require the life of each man’s brother for a man’s life.

6 Whoever sheds man’s blood,

his blood will be shed by man,

for God made man in His image.

7 But you, be fruitful and multiply; spread out over the earth and multiply on it.”

5 For your own lifeblood I will surely require a reckoning: from every animal I will require it and from human beings, each one for the blood of another, I will require a reckoning for human life.

6 Whoever sheds the blood of a human,

by a human shall that person’s blood be shed;

for in his own image

God made humankind.

7 And you, be fruitful and multiply, abound on the earth and multiply in it.”

5 And your lifeblood I will require; from every animal I will require it. And from the hand of humankind, from the hand of each man to his brother I will require the life of humankind.

6 “As for the one shedding the blood of humankind,

by humankind his blood shall be shed,

for God made humankind in his own image.

7 “And you, be fruitful and multiply, swarm on the earth and multiply in it.”

5 You can be sure that I will hold someone accountable if you are murdered. I will even hold animals accountable if they kill you. I will also hold anyone accountable who murders another person.

6 “Anyone who murders man

will be killed by man.

That is because I have made man

in my own likeness.

7 “Have children and increase your numbers. Multiply on the earth and increase your numbers on it.”
