2 John 6–8 — The New International Version (NIV)

And this is love: that we walk in obedience to his commands. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you walk in love.

I say this because many deceivers, who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh, have gone out into the world. Any such person is the deceiver and the antichrist. Watch out that you do not lose what we have worked for, but that you may be rewarded fully.

2 John 6–8 — English Standard Version (ESV)

And this is love, that we walk according to his commandments; this is the commandment, just as you have heard from the beginning, so that you should walk in it. For many deceivers have gone out into the world, those who do not confess the coming of Jesus Christ in the flesh. Such a one is the deceiver and the antichrist. Watch yourselves, so that you may not lose what we have worked for, but may win a full reward.

2 John 6–8 — King James Version (KJV 1900)

And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it. For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward.

2 John 6–8 — New Living Translation (NLT)

Love means doing what God has commanded us, and he has commanded us to love one another, just as you heard from the beginning.

I say this because many deceivers have gone out into the world. They deny that Jesus Christ came in a real body. Such a person is a deceiver and an antichrist. Watch out that you do not lose what we have worked so hard to achieve. Be diligent so that you receive your full reward.

2 John 6–8 — The New King James Version (NKJV)

This is love, that we walk according to His commandments. This is the commandment, that as you have heard from the beginning, you should walk in it.

For many deceivers have gone out into the world who do not confess Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. Look to yourselves, that we do not lose those things we worked for, but that we may receive a full reward.

2 John 6–8 — New Century Version (NCV)

And love means living the way God commanded us to live. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is this: Live a life of love.

Many false teachers are in the world now who do not confess that Jesus Christ came to earth as a human. Anyone who does not confess this is a false teacher and an enemy of Christ. Be careful yourselves that you do not lose everything you have worked for, but that you receive your full reward.

2 John 6–8 — American Standard Version (ASV)

And this is love, that we should walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, even as ye heard from the beginning, that ye should walk in it. For many deceivers are gone forth into the world, even they that confess not that Jesus Christ cometh in the flesh. This is the deceiver and the antichrist. Look to yourselves, that ye lose not the things which we have wrought, but that ye receive a full reward.

2 John 6–8 — 1890 Darby Bible (DARBY)

And this is love, that we should walk according to his commandments. This is the commandment, according as ye have heard from the beginning, that ye might walk in it.

For many deceivers have gone out into the world, they who do not confess Jesus Christ coming in flesh—this is the deceiver and the antichrist. See to yourselves, that we may not lose what we have wrought, but may receive full wages.

2 John 6–8 — GOD’S WORD Translation (GW)

Love means that we live by doing what he commands. We were commanded to live in love, and you have heard this from the beginning.

Many people who deceive others have gone into the world. They refuse to declare that Jesus Christ came in flesh and blood. This is the mark of a deceiver and an antichrist. Be careful that you don’t destroy what we’ve worked for, but that you receive your full reward.

2 John 6–8 — The Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)

And this is love: that we walk according to His commands. This is the command as you have heard it from the beginning: you must walk in love.

2 John 6–8 — The Lexham English Bible (LEB)

And this is love: that we walk according to his commandments. This is the commandment, just as you have heard from the beginning, so that you should walk in it. For many deceivers have gone out into the world, those who do not confess Jesus Christ coming in the flesh. This person is the deceiver and the antichrist! Watch yourselves that you do not lose what we have worked for, but receive a full reward.

2 John 6–8 — New International Reader’s Version (1998) (NIrV)

The way we show our love is to obey God’s commands. He commands you to lead a life of love. That’s what you have heard from the beginning.

Many people who try to fool others have gone out into the world. They don’t agree that Jesus Christ came in a human body. People like that try to trick others. They are enemies of Christ. Watch out that you don’t lose what you have worked for. Make sure that you get your complete reward.
