5 A woman must not wear men’s clothing, nor a man wear women’s clothing, for the Lord your God detests anyone who does this.

6 If you come across a bird’s nest beside the road, either in a tree or on the ground, and the mother is sitting on the young or on the eggs, do not take the mother with the young. 7 You may take the young, but be sure to let the mother go, so that it may go well with you and you may have a long life.

6 Whenever you’re traveling and find a nest containing chicks or eggs, this is what you must do. If the mother bird is sitting on the nest, never take her with the chicks. 7 You may take the chicks, but make sure you let the mother go. Then things will go well for you, and you will live for a long time.

6 “If a bird’s nest is found before you on the road in any tree or on the ground, and there are chicks or eggs, and the mother is lying down on the chicks or the eggs, you shall not take the mother along with the young; 7 you shall certainly let the mother go, but you may take the young for yourselves; do this so that it may go well for you and you may live long in the land.

Then don’t take the mother along with the little ones. 7 You can take the little ones. But make sure you let the mother go. Then things will go well with you. You will live for a long time.
