Zechariah 2:8–12

For thus saith the Lord of hosts;

After lthe glory hath he sent me unto the nations which spoiled you:

For the that toucheth you utoucheth vthe apple of his eye.

For, behold, I will wshake mine hand upon them,

And xthey shall be a spoil to their servants:

And yye shall know that the Lord of hosts hath sent me.

10  zSing and rejoice, aO daughter of Zion:

For, blo, I come, and cI will dwell in the midst of thee, saith the Lord.

11  And dmany nations eshall be joined to the Lord fin that day,

And shall be my people:

And cI will dwell in the midst of thee,

And ythou shalt know that the Lord of hosts hath sent me unto thee.

12  And the Lord shall fginherit Judah ghis portion in the holy land,

And hshall choose Jerusalem again.

Zechariah 2:8–12 — The New International Version (NIV)

For this is what the Lord Almighty says: “After the Glorious One has sent me against the nations that have plundered you—for whoever touches you touches the apple of his eye—I will surely raise my hand against them so that their slaves will plunder them. Then you will know that the Lord Almighty has sent me.

10 “Shout and be glad, Daughter Zion. For I am coming, and I will live among you,” declares the Lord. 11 “Many nations will be joined with the Lord in that day and will become my people. I will live among you and you will know that the Lord Almighty has sent me to you. 12 The Lord will inherit Judah as his portion in the holy land and will again choose Jerusalem.

After a period of glory, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies sent me against the nations who plundered you. For he said, “Anyone who harms you harms my most precious possession. I will raise my fist to crush them, and their own slaves will plunder them.” Then you will know that the Lord of Heaven’s Armies has sent me.

10 The Lord says, “Shout and rejoice, O beautiful Jerusalem, for I am coming to live among you. 11 Many nations will join themselves to the Lord on that day, and they, too, will be my people. I will live among you, and you will know that the Lord of Heaven’s Armies sent me to you. 12 The land of Judah will be the Lord’s special possession in the holy land, and he will once again choose Jerusalem to be his own city.

The Lord rules over all. His angel says to Israel, “The Lord has sent me to honor him. He wants me to punish the nations that have robbed you of everything. After all, anyone who hurts you hurts those the Lord loves and guards. So I will raise my powerful hand to strike your enemies down. Their own slaves will rob them of everything. Then you will know that the Lord who rules over all has sent me.

10 “ ‘People of Zion, shout and be glad! I am coming to live among you,’ announces the Lord. 11 ‘At that time many nations will join themselves to me. And they will become my people. I will live among you.’ says the Lord. Then you will know that the Lord who rules over all has sent me to you.
