Romans 6:23–7:1

23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

1 Do you not know, brothers and sisters—for I am speaking to those who know the law—that the law has authority over someone only as long as that person lives?

23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

1 Or do you not know, brothers—for I am speaking to those who know the law—that the law is binding on a person only as long as he lives?

23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.

1 Now, dear brothers and sisters—you who are familiar with the law—don’t you know that the law applies only while a person is living?

23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

1 Or do you not know, brethren (for I speak to those who know the law), that the law has dominion over a man as long as he lives?

23 The payment for sin is death. But God gives us the free gift of life forever in Christ Jesus our Lord.

1 Brothers and sisters, all of you understand the law of Moses. So surely you know that the law rules over people only while they are alive.

23 For the wages of sin is death; but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

1 Or are ye ignorant, brethren (for I speak to men who know the law), that the law hath dominion over a man for so long time as he liveth?

23 For the wages of sin is death; but the act of favour of God, eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

1 Are ye ignorant, brethren, (for I speak to those knowing law,) that law rules over a man as long as he lives?

23 The payment for sin is death, but the gift that God freely gives is everlasting life found in Christ Jesus our Lord. 

1 Don’t you realize, brothers and sisters, that laws have power over people only as long as they are alive? (I’m speaking to people who are familiar with Moses’ Teachings.)

23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

1 Since I am speaking to those who understand law, brothers, are you unaware that the law has authority over someone as long as he lives?

23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

1 Or do you not know, brothers and sisters—for I am speaking to those who know the law—that the law is binding on a person only during that person’s lifetime?

23 For the compensation due sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

1 Or do you not know, brothers (for I am speaking to those who know the law), that the law is master of a person for as long a time as he lives?

23 When you sin, the pay you get is death. But God gives you the gift of eternal life because of what Christ Jesus our Lord has done.

1 Brothers and sisters, I am speaking to you who know the law. Don’t you know that the law has authority over us only as long as we are alive?

23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

1 Or do you not know, brethren (for I am speaking to those who know the law), that the law has jurisdiction over a person as long as he lives?
