Micah 6:1–8

aHear ye now what the Lord saith;

Arise, contend thou ||before the mountains,

And let the hills hear thy voice.

abHear ye, O mountains, cthe Lord’s controversy,

And ye strong foundations of the earth:

And he will plead with Israel.

O my people, dwhat have I done unto thee?

And ewherein have I wearied thee?

Testify against me.

For fI brought thee up out of the land of Egypt,

And what Balaam the son of Beor answered him

That ye may know nthe righteousness of the Lord.

And qbow myself before the rhigh God?

Shall I come before him with burnt offerings,

With calves of a year old?

sWill the Lord be pleased with thousands of rams,

Or with ten thousands of trivers of oil?

uShall I give my firstborn for my transgression,

The fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?

sHe hath shewed thee, vO man, what is good;

And wwhat doth the Lord require of thee,

But xto do yjustly, and to love ymercy,

And to walk humbly awith thy God?
