Jeremiah 17:21–23

21 Thus saith the Lord; Take heed to yourselves, and ebear no burden on the sabbath day, nor bring it in by the gates of Jerusalem; 22 Neither carry forth a burden out of your houses on the sabbath day, fneither do ye any work, but ffhallow ye the sabbath day, gas I commanded your fathers. 23 hBut they obeyed not, neither inclined their ear, but imade their neck stiff, that they might not hear, nor kreceive instruction.

Jeremiah 17:21–23 — The New International Version (NIV)

21 This is what the Lord says: Be careful not to carry a load on the Sabbath day or bring it through the gates of Jerusalem. 22 Do not bring a load out of your houses or do any work on the Sabbath, but keep the Sabbath day holy, as I commanded your ancestors. 23 Yet they did not listen or pay attention; they were stiff-necked and would not listen or respond to discipline.
