You must bring his grey hair down to Sheol with blood.”

Later, he came down to welcome me at the Jordan River. At that time I took an oath in the name of the Lord. I promised Shimei, ‘I won’t put you to death with my sword.’ But now I want you to think of him as guilty. You are wise. You will know what to do to him. Don’t let him live to become an old man. Put him to death.”

1 Kings 2:8–9 — New American Standard Bible: 1995 Update (NASB95)

Now therefore, do not let him go unpunished, for you are a wise man; and you will know what you ought to do to him, and you will bring his gray hair down to Sheol with blood.”
